Historical Movie Recommendations?
I just found out I will be teaching a History vs. Hollywood class and wanted to see what you thought are some good movies that are mostly based on historical truth. They can also be fictionalized, but have groundings in some accuracy.
These movies need to cater to HS kids 10th - 12th grade. 'R' rated is ok, but not ultra-hard.
Also, want groups of similar themed movies (WW II, Government, WW I, Terrorism, etc.)
Some movies that I know have been shown or will be shown:
Mississippi Burning
We Were Soldiers
The Last King of Scotland
Thirteen Days
Braveheart
Gladiator
Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Here's a few I've seen recently and liked:
Heavens Fall (2006)
Windtalkers (2002)
Mongol (2007)
The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964)
Frost/Nixon (2008)
House of Saddam (2008) miniseries
Cromwell (1970) great film, but I've heard it's not too accurate
The Deal (2003)
And a few I saw when I was in high school:
The Grapes of Wrath (1940)
Lawrence of Arabia (1962)
The Miracle Worker (1962)
Roots (1977) miniseries
Andersonville (1996)

Spartacus (1960) - based on a real slave rebellion in Ancient Rome
The Longest Day (1962) - depicts the D-Day invasion of WWII and has a good level of historic accuracy
(And both feature a number of mega-superstars that the kids won't have a clue as to who they are)
