Yeah, definitely easy to see where they were going with the Scuba Diver, but I still enjoyed the episode (along with Eva Amurri).

Who was the blond at the bar?

edit: never mind it was Sarah Wright and I guess the only thing I've seen her on was Accidentally on Purpose a couple of weeks ago.

I liked her when she was on "The Loop".

Everything except The Scuba Diver was fantastic. Glad to have the real Barney back.

Man, Claire sitting with them through the whole episode was blowing my mind. I thought for sure I missed an episode where she was introduced. Eva has nice, ahem, assets (thanks Showtime!) but she's a butterface for me. Claire was much cuter.

No love for Cobie's rack in that low cut shirt? For shame, fellas.

I was laughing so hard in some places that I had to rewind the DVR to catch what I missed. Neil Patrick Harris should submit this episode for his Emmy reel. He was on fire.

Is it wrong that I love hearing Alyson swearing? I still imagine her as sweet Willow and it's just awesome hearing Alyson swear.

Pretty good episode. The Scuba Diver was weak since it could be seen coming from a mile away, but the rest of the playbook was great.

Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "The Playbook" -- 11/16/09

Spoiler for next episode:
Spoiler:

Don’t worry, How I Met Your Mother fans: There will be slaps. Not only will the series’ Nov. 23 Thanksgiving episode feature a guest star — Chris Elliott (pictured), as Lily’s estranged dad — but also the long-awaited fourth slap in Marshall and Barney’s Slap Bet. (The Bet’s hardly over though — Barney’s still anticipating one more strike!) “There’s a little bit of a twist on the slap this year,” says executive producer Carter Bays. “The Slap Bet commissioner makes an interesting ruling that I can’t reveal.” What Bays can reveal is why they invited Chris Elliott in on the fun. “He’s a hero of mine,” he says. “We realized we hadn’t ever met Lily’s dad, and I felt like, at this point, why haven’t we met him?” We bet Barney will wish he never had.

Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "The Playbook" -- 11/16/09

I emailed Lorenzo von Mattehorn via the extremities quarterly website, and this was the reply I got:

Thanks for your thoughts...

I'm ballooning to Tibet to meet with a healer - the last of his kind.
This may be my last hope of righting the unnatural girth of my
manhood.

Edit: From his myspace page:

Lorenzo von Matterhorn began rescuing stray puppies and other cute animals at the age of 4 years old. As someone who had been abandoned himself, Lorenzo recognized both the pain of loneliness as well as the power of hope. One evening, while nursing a particularly cute Cocker Spaniel back to health, Lorenzo noticed the rest of his brood howling in unison. Curious as to their abilities, he spent the next several months developing their voices and then entered them as a musical act in a local festival under the name DOG STEVENS. They took first place, and went on to become one of the most successful animal musical acts since The Beatles.
