ABC has picked up five more episodes of Tuesday night’s “The Forgotten” while deciding against ordering additional episodes of “Eastwick.”
In addition, ABC is yanking the planned upcoming debut of reality show “Let’s Dance.”

I've been watching EASTWICK even though it's not really that good ...... in a way, sorry to see it go (big Paul Gross fan) but it won't really be missed.
As for FORGOTTON ...... I lasted one episode.

Dammit. I enjoyed Eastwick. Hot chicks and Sara Rue was bringing the funny.

I liked Eastwick from the beginning so I knew it was going to be cancelled. I'm surprised it lasted this long.

The forgotten isn't bad. It's pretty much in the same realm as Without a Trace and Cold Case if you like those shows.
BTW, Heather Stephens and Michelle Borth on the forgotten are pretty damn hot too.
I will miss Eastwick. Hopefully the remaining produced episodes will air.

Ditched the forgotten after 1 episode and had 2 Eastwick's saved up on the dvr but I'll just go ahead and erase them...I liked it but I don't have as much free time right now, so I am not too upset about it.

I really thought 'eastwick' had a chance to grow into something really good. But while I enjoyed watching it I honestly always felt like something was more or less missing (or not clicking). And after watching the ratings in all honesty I can't fault ABC, the show has scored under 5 million at least once.

Oh please oh please oh please. I really liked her character.
I'm surprised to see this news, I figured Eastwick would survive and the Forgotten wouldn't. I never really got into Eastwick, the pilot didn't grab me and while I usually give new shows 2-3 episodes to improve, I didn't have the time or inspiration to get back to it.
As for the Forgotten, the pilot wasn't impressive but later episodes have been better. It's certainly not the best or most original show on TV, but it's more than watchable. Episodes tend to stack up a bit until I'm caught up with everything else, then I watch a batch of them, not dissimilar to how I used to watch Without a Trace.

Have all 13 eps been filmed already, or will they have a chance at some kind of closure?

dunno. but with ABC's history of canceling shows, writers should just know to have some kind of closure after 13 episodes.

This decision probably paves the way for Lost to take over the time slot when it comes back. Combined with ABC's comedies they should have a pretty good Wednesday lineup come January.

I liked the pilot and the three main characters, but I found myself liking the show less with every episode. I just wasn't drawn into the main series arc and I did not care for the male lead character. I finally bailed about 2 weeks ago.
I do think this show would have fared better on Tuesday night (the Forgotten's time slot.) The Dancing with the Stars lead-in would probably benefit a female driven show.

Re: ABC cans Eastwick; Forgotten gets 5 more episodes
Has news of Eastwick’s cancellation left you wanting to saw the president of ABC in half? You’re not alone. “I’m pretty furious, too,” vents executive producer Maggie Friedman. “We have such an amazing group of writers and actors — best people I’ve ever worked with. None of us can believe this is really happening.”
Adding insult to injury, the plug was pulled during production of the show’s 13th and final episode. In other words, don’t expect to get any closure! “We’re smack in the middle of several insanely juicy stories,” Friedman sighs. “And so we do not get a chance to wrap things up in a bow. Which is killing me.”
If there’s a silver lining, it’s that the remaining episodes are expected to air as planned. “I believe [ABC] is going to air the rest of our run,” says Friedman, “and I think people should tune in anyway because our best episodes are in there. We were really hitting our stride.
“The magic was getting crazy, the storylines were getting really exciting and sexy and dangerous,” the exec elaborates. “I [just] wish we could’ve given the fans — and ourselves — real closure.”

That's called bad producing by Ms. Friedman. Considering they are producing a serialized show and the ratings have been below average for the past month or so, they should have written episode 13 as a series finale or at least created an alternate ending.
