I'm surprised there is no buzz about this. V is coming to ABC this week. This is a new mini-series reimagining the classic 1980's show. I knew nothing about it until I caught a promo this weekend. Wow. ABC must be pouring big bucks into this production. The effects look movie qualify. It also has a quality cast including actors from Lost and the 4400.

I checked some early reviews and E! is saying it is the best tv pilot ever produced. Definitely worth checking out. I remember how huge the original show was in the 80's. IT was a water cooler event.

I watched the original miniseries on SciFi (I refuse to call it "SyFy") yesterday. Still need to go through The Final Battle.

You didn't hear about this until this past weekend? Have you been living in a box? You couldn't go more than 10 minutes watching ABC over the last month without seeing a promo or a screen bug about it.

I'll watch it just for Morena Baccarin.

I have a friend that's really excited about it. He's making me record it because he doesn't have an HD television set. In other words, even if I'm not excited about it, I'm still going to get stuck watching it. I hope it's good; Tuesday is a near wasteland for me as far as TV shows go.

Almost all articles regarding this new series remark about how it is going to be difficult to maintain an audience by having only four eps. and then not returning until March. I could understand that if the series was getting bashed, but it's getting mostly positive notices. I am wondering if the show has a high price tag and ABC just doesn't want it around.

Here in opposite land...

We watch very little broadcast TV (and we only have an antenna at that), so I haven't seen a lot of ads for this, though I knew it was in the works just from the unholy amount of time I spend online.

But the other night I caught an ad with short-haired Morena, and damn if that didn't catch my attention...

I may give this a shot, I initially brushed off the BSG remake because I wasn't really into the original, maybe this will do the same for me.

HI, I am new here. I was googling ABC's 'V' and came across here.

I have been really looking forward to this show. I watched the first Pilot last week and I thought it was excellent! The special effects are top notch although I did think the acting was a little dodgy but I guess they are still finding their feet.

And yes, it was a very good first episode, but it should have been two hours.

This would have made a good miniseries but how are they going to come up with stories every week?
The original TV show that was spun off from the miniseries, basically came down to one side winning each week and then reset button and it happens all over again next week.

I enjoyed the original TV show so I'll be giving this one a chance.
