Meh.
Every rags-to-Hollywood success is littered with stories like this; some folks make it, some folks fall by the way side and some folks go upstairs with their basketball and never come back downstairs.
Five years into the show's run this comes off as "look at me!"

It's pretty funny that Mac and the original "Sweet Dee" broke up and then Mac married the new "Sweet Dee," but I find this whole story a little hard to believe. I'm sure there is a lot more to the story than what she is telling us. I've never heard of her before today (has anyone else?) and don't recall seeing her in either of the pilots (convenient to say she was holding the boom mic).
In fact, I've watched It's Always Sunny since the start and don't ever remember her name ever being mentioned online or on Wikipedia (it is there now, but cites the article mentioned in this thread and another one published the same day...both three days ago). That being said, I don't necessarily doubt her claim she was involved, but I do doubt that it is as simple as "I was dating Mac, we broke up, I got fired."

A few days after it was announced that Comedy Central was buying reruns for $400K/ep, this comes off as "Why didn't I get some ownership of this freakin' show!?"

My thoughts exactly. There's no story here, she's just driving traffic to her blog.

Yup, I'm sure she was a real contributor. Methinks what really happened was they were fucking, she's hot, so of course they're going to give her a spot while that's going on. Now they are broken up, she never really had any creative or comedy input despite what she alludes to (yeah let's see some of that improv), and so they booted her since they only had her due to the relationship in the first place.

That's interesting. I suspect the truth is closer to her just being there because she was dating Rob. What's interesting is that in the first season Sweet Dee was much more the straight man of the group, probably due in part to them developing the role with her instead of someone like Olson who had a lot of improv experience.

It's interesting [in a WTF kind of way] when you browse around her site.
She's a "Harvard-educated actress" who had eight small roles over 12 years.
Now she's a "life-caster" (some kind of blogger?) about married life.
Also there's a clip of her on MSNBC offering her opinions of Micheal Moore's latest movie.
And for some reason she was being interviewed on German TV about John Travolta.

Seems like she's the ex that gets kicked to the curb and thought she was more important than she actually was. I will cry one tear for her and two tears for some nude pics.

Edit: It pays to wiki things. Now I know where I read it. "Dee was the only major character in the show to be conceived without an actor in mind. Although she was originally written to be a female voice of reason to contrast with the other ridiculous characters, Dee's character quickly became an equal participant in The Gang's illicit and morally-questionable activities once Olson was cast."

Well, maybe if she would blow DeVito like the others eventually did, they'd give her a piece of the show.
