Wow... nothing for a Halloween sale, very sucky. $9.99 Monster House? $25 blu-rays? ...guess I'll have to do my horror movie shopping at Wal-mart this year.

Thanks for the ad.

Man, what the hell happened to Best Buy's Halloween DVD sale? A tiny handful of titles last week, and pretty much nothing the actual week of? Weak.

I'm surprised they don't have Night of the Creeps listed.

The great majority of that ad, looks more like "trick" rather than "treat".

Does anyone know if the Insignia player is a re-badged model or a Best Buy produced one?

Re: Best Buy Ad - 10/25 - 10/31/2009

I forgot BSG: The Plan was coming out this week as it was left off the misnamed BSG: "Complete Series" set. I just found another thread on DVD Talk with a link to a review that said the "Face of the Enemy" webisodes which were supposed to be included on The Plan were NOT included. Somehow I'm not surprised Universal did that.

So, where can one get the Face of the Enemy webisodes? Hulu? All I know is I won't be buying The Plan without the webisodes until the price is a lot cheaper. I knew I would have to buy 1 DVD to make my so-called "Complete Series" complete, but having to buy 2 (I assume that is why Universal didn't include the webisodes) is not OK.

So all blu-rays, except the ones noted at the bottom of the page, are 30% off? Or do you have to buy the blu-ray player to get the 30% off?

It was never announced that "Face of the Enemy" would be included with "The Plan." People were speculating that those webisodes might have been held back for the release of "The Plan" since they weren't included in either the complete series or the season four sets.

It's anybody's guess as to why Universal won't release these on disc.

So Transformers is cheaper in its second week of release? I may have to finally pick up a copy of Twilight if that release has any decent extras.

Transformers is $19.96 at Walmart this week (some have reported $15.96, but that's serious YMMV) and with the $3 off Papa John's coupon, it's an even better deal because it's the IMAX version. (The aspect changes like Dark Knight did, blowing up to 1.78:1 for the IMAX scenes.)

Wolfmother, Creed, Train and modern day releases from Sting and Rod Stewart? That's a whole lot of new release suck on one page.

If this is a good player, I may have to consider going Blu, and BSG The Plan would be my first purchase.

As for the person asking about where to find the Face of the Enemy shorts, I think you know the answer to that one.

I'm not sure which model that is, but currently there is a promotion to get an Insignia Player with Netflix for $100 or one with Netflix and built-in WiFi for $150. There is a $50 off coupon floating around. You're better off getting one of those two over the one in the ad (I think that's the Gen2 model while the others are Gen3).

As for how it stacks up - it's decent. If you have the extra bucks, grab a LG BD370, Panasonic 60 instead as they are $150 or less.

Re: Best Buy Ad - 10/25 - 10/31/2009

Does that B2G1 video game deal say "any game $58.99 or less"? It's hard to read from the scan, but if so, that kinda stinks.
