At the rate we're going, everyone's going to be a part of a reality TV show in the next ten years.

But... how many people do you know who have been in front of the camera in a reality series (as contestants or participants)? Anything from Big Brother to any of the food-challenge and fix-your-house shows on various cable networks.

And maybe... have you been in one?

• My friend's cousin was the female winner of season one of American Gladiator (2008).

the host of Kid Nation was a high school friend of mine.. so that counts as far as in front of the camera goes.. maybe worth 1/2 a point extra vs knowing a contestant.

Also I guess another classmate of mine was on Extreme Makeover as part of the design team for an ep but I never saw that so idea if they had any camera time or not.

I really doubt that many people know reality stars any more then they know pro athletes or victims of some huge event. I mean some sub groups seem like a lot of people but it's really just a few 1,000 here or there.

Unless one starts to get into the whole "6 degrees of" and then it's pretty easy to know someone who knows someone.

Aneesa, the lesbian from Real World Chicago went to the same HS as me. She came to visit my HS one day and she was dressed like a total tramp.

Svetlana from Real World Key West is from my area and went to my college.

Some douche from my area was on My Super Sweet 16. Apparently, he has no friends. I'm sure it's obvious, but it's hilarious how scripted it is, as I've been told from people who were there.

Another girl who is very good friends with some of my friends was on My Super Sweet 16. She's supposed to be really cool, and was probably the least bitchy of anyone on that god forsaken show.

One of the Managers I worked with when did a short stint at Best Buy has done a few reality shows and was either kicked off or fell short in some way. I forget his name, but the last time I saw him on TV he was competing to get a spot on the Vh1's The Surreal Life. The Celebs were supposed to pick from a group of guys to fill a final spot or some shit like that. Anyway, they had him dressed in a grass skirt and Hawaiian shirt and eleminated him 1st.

It was the season with Alexis Arquette.

I went to elementary school with an Amazing Race contestant. A friend of mine was in one of those TLC proposal shows (although he never got married afterward). A friend of a former co-worker is in an upcoming cooking show. A friend from high school is in Running in Heels, a Style show about interns working in a fashion magazine, where she's a staff member.

I put none. Closest for me was the guy who won Richard Branson's Apprentice rip-off show used to have an office in my building and I'd see him around from time to time.
