While the show does manage to be quite funny at times, their attempt to introduce dramatic elements seem forced. They feel almost shoehorned in, as if they want want to have these deep character moments, but are uncertain as to how precisely in which to do it.

the show is starting to wear off on me. i only laughed at the beginning when i saw the spanish books they were using were what i used in college. haha other than that, i found it to be pretty weak.

Each episode keeps improving on the last. Abed reminds me a little of Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. Favorite part was when Britta came in asking about Ravi Shankar and Abed's dad asking about Weezer.

The desk breaking with the girl falling cracked me up
Abed is about the only likeable or interesting character on here.

Another enjoyable episode. Sorry to see it going up against Flash Forward...I guess I will have to catch up with the rest of them on DVD>

I like this show. It's definitely not perfect, but damned if it doesn't have potential. Better yet, it keeps realizing a bit of that potential every week.

Have yet to see this week's Modern Family, but I think this show is the most clever comedy on Network TV. Take the two sodas for instance, Chevy says they are both his, then talks about his different sneezes and when Troy takes interest, he gives him the soda. Nothing monumental, but it tells me the writers have an idea on character development.
The setup was great with the documentary film and Abed does get the best lines: "I'm doing a documentary; it's like a regular movie with ugly people instead." John Michael Higgins climbing up the tree after the kiss, spying on all the seizing by the students was great.

As much as I want to find a reason to give up this show - once I start watching I'm not in a rush to stop it.
I would say this is a bit better than Modern Family

I'm enjoying it, but I won't be too upset if it gets cancelled. It'll be nice when 30 Rock comes back to have a solid 2-hour block of enjoyable comedies to watch (yeah, I just admitted that I'm enjoying Parks & Recreation too).
Thought this episode was pretty good. Does anyone know if they have a long-term plan of having a guest star appear as a new teacher each episode? So far, we've had John Oliver, Ken Jeung, and John Michael Higgins, and as far as I know, Ken Jeung is the only one in the opening credits (unfortunately).

Wow, amazed at how many people don't like this show. I thought this was the funniest yet. All the one-liners are great.
"Pierce will top that in one minute ... 29 seconds"
"Documentaries are like real movies, but with ugly people."
"Dreams are for sleeping."
"You don't know that!"
"It's clinically proven!"
"So is polio!"
"You've lost me!"

Community has made my top 3 favorite comedies for the year...we'll see how that changes as the season progresses.
1.Curb Your Enthusiasm
2.Community
3.Parks and Recreation
The Office has been more than disappointing. At least with Parks & Recreation we get a similar style, but with a fresh set of characters.

Surprised at all the negative reaction to this episode. I enjoyed it, and I thought the film was actually really well done. Maybe some could say it's a cheap emotional moment, but it got to me. When they panned back to his father crying, I thought it was a great moment.

This show is cleverly written, I liken it to Arrested Development if you aren't paying attention to the dialogue, you're going to miss something.
Which I guess would be true with any program containing dialogue.
I got nothin.

I thought this episode was fine. Funny lines and moments, fun characters. It's a fine way to spend 22 minutes.

but by the time I watched the episode it wasnt really funny after seeing it in ads every ten minutes it seemed this week.
Still some good lines, I still watch thursday nights for the office, but I really enjoy this and parks and recreation as well.

I never thought the show was being touted as some raucous LOL comedy.. I thought it was a Comedy-Drama, and the comedy isn't in your face. I love the characters and the premise. I still think there's a lot of potential here.
I just wonder how it will bide when it moves to 8pm in a couple of weeks.
