I have just recently realized that I missed hours of some of my favorite sitcoms like Friends and Seinfeld.

I must have switched off after that last commercial where the FIRST set of credits roll because only now, and this is still after years of syndication, that if I stay until after that last comercial, there is still a snippet of comedy to be seen!!! (much like the sitcoms of today are doing: Scrubs, Community, and I am sure countless others)

I have missed this for years and years. I have been watching after this commercial and there is still funny to be had. I am like in amazement that I have literally missed hours of these shows I grew up with.

Of course, having the DVDs would have solved this, but I like watching them over and over in syndication and now, to get these nuggets back, is like a little after dinner treat. I really am in awe now.

Anyone else missed these over the years?

In all seriousness, I believe the correct term for this is the "stinger" if my screenwriting class is coming back to me.

It has an official name, so yes it's been around for a LONG time

True story - My mother did just that once. She was babysitting my nephew when he must have been about 2 or so, and popped in Shrek, but couldn't figure out how to start it. The menu played for hours until I stopped by and showed her the 'PLAY MOVIE' function.
