Word of Warning about Amazon.co.uk preorders

I preordered the Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series - Limited Edition Blu-ray for £99.90 from Amazon.co.uk two weeks ago.
When I got the shipping notice I was charged £112.88 plus shipping.
When I checked my order on Amazon.co.uk the price there has also been changed to £112.88.
Fortunately I had my original email with the correct price.
I sent them a nasty email and they have issued a refund.

They had also upped the preorder price for "Star Trek: Films 1-10 Remastered Special Edition Box Set Blu-ray from £112.16 when I ordered it to £124.88. They haven't corrected that yet.

It looks like their price guarantee works in reverse.
If the price goes up they correct your order to the higher price.
Pretty amazing since in the past they have not corrected the price when it goes down; I have had to email them for a preorder price correction.

Very shady and worth keeping an eye out for.

Maybe a glitch in their system. I have been ordering for years from them without a problem. Luckily they have top notch customer service.

I've only ordered from the UK site once or twice but this does seem very odd. I know with the US site I have seen prices fluctuate up and down prior to release on occasion, but if you pre-order at the low price point then you're usually locked in unless the price goes even lower. Don't know if this applies to UK also but I would check with customer service. Does seem very, very irregular for them.

I've gotten money BACK from Amazon UK preorders if the price has dropped since I ordered it.

I find the UK site is much better than the US site.
