Dollhouse -- Season 2 Premiere -- "Vows" -- 9/25/09
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Looking forward to season 2.
I know alot of people here tend to not read old threads from previous seasons, but Barry Woodward posted alot of good information for this coming season.

Also, for those of you who love Amy Acker, she will be back for 3 episodes this season as she already has a fulltime gig on Happy Town, a midseason show for ABC. 3 is better than 0.

Awesome. At what time is this on? And, yeah, when does Summer Glau show up?
And when did Topher start going to the same barber as Mitchel Musso?

Very excited. I watched it last year and just finished rewatching all the episodes on blu-ray, including Epitaph One and can't wait to see where they're going with things this year.

I'm actually excited about this one. I just hope this season has a consistent flow throughout as opposed to last season where I was all but ready to axe it from my series recording schedule when it got interesting with "Man on the Street." The last few eps. were great, but the first few has some that were barely watchable (don't even get me started on the "Stage Fright" one).

I thought the network-tinkered episodes were good. I mean, yes, they were pretty much just standard scifi fare, but it allowed for a lot more semi-subtle moments hinting at the future, like Echo doing the shoulder gesture, "friends help each other out," etc. Sure, the pace would have been a lot faster without the network's changes, but I still think it turned out really well.

RE: the promo photo
I wonder if they day will ever come where the promo shot for a series doesn't involve cast members standing around like they're modeling clothes for someone?

I still haven't picked up the Blu-ray for season 1, so I haven't seen the unaired finale. Damn! Really need to keep my eyes out for a deal. Anyway, happy to have this show back and look forward to more growth.

FYI - it isn't a finale that wasn't aired. It is a "one off" standalone episode that you can really ignore completely. "Omega" was the genuine season 1 finale. IMHO it was kinda cool, but I'm never going to watch it again.

Holy crap! I didn't even realize this comes back on tonight. Thanks for starting this thread DJ!
Loved the first season and cant wait to see what Joss Whedon does with season two. It seems like Whedon has a mediocore first season and the second season improves on a lot of things. Here's hoping this is the same case with Dollhouse.

I've no love for Dushku but I must admit I liked when she asked for a footrub.
I'm not digging Olivia WIlliam's new haircut. I hope that's not permanent.
And Amy Acker is being great as usual.
I love Dichen Lachman's scene as the prissy "white" lady.

And the Whedon & Co. appearances continue. For those of you keeping score...
Eliza Dushku (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel), Amy Acker (Angel), Mark Sheppard (Firefly), Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Serenity), Felicia Day (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), and now Alexis Denisof (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel) as well as (coming soon)...
And there's also some other actors that had bit parts in this and other Whedon shows. Nice to see some Battlestar Alum coming together as well.
EDIT: Amy Acker is fantastic. I am really going to miss her being on this show. I can already see signs of Topher becoming what he was in "Epitaph," and am really looking forward to the character being more fully developed.
EDIT: Solid premiere. Did a great job of re-introducing the characters and laying the foundation for a good second season, as well as further exploring some of the background of the Dollhouse. Not sure about next week's episode though; looks like it could be a corny one-off with no real mythology explored; we'll see though, as I think the show has been getting better and better as it goes on.

I can't believe I'd ever say this but Topher is a better man than me. No way I could have resisted Whisky then and there.
And Dushku's acting seems much improved since season one.

I found the ep to be borderline "meh"... didn't like it, didn't hate it... but I have to admit that the acting was better.
Had no idea that Jamie Bamber was a Brit.

I really enjoyed it. The main story of the case Ballard had Echo on wasn't interesting but everything that happened around that story was. That's what kept me engaged. And it was nice to see subtle early signs of elements seen previously in "Epitath One".

Re: Dollhouse -- Season 2 Premiere -- "Vows" -- 9/25/09
This was a good episode to start the season. A little too focused on titilation (Not that that's a bad thing ) But I guess they need to draw in more male viewers with that. I liked Ballard a lot and I think his character can grow a bit more now that he's working for the dollhouse.
Next weeks episode looks horrible.

I thought the ep was just okay.
I think those who haven't seen Epitaph One should check it out.

I enjoyed it.
It doesn't help that I'm spending most of the episode merely geeking out over the cast.
