I thought the premiere was promising. It takes some sitcoms a few episodes to really hit it's stride so I'm back for another round.

Count me in as one who thought the premiere showed alot of promise. This is pretty much the only new show i'm watching this year.

I'm still a bit concerned about the premise of the show. I have no idea where they're taking this over the longer term. With that said, I thought it was very solid. I'll continue to tune in.

Didn't really laugh once, so I'm done with this show. Big fan of The Soup and Joel, but I've never liked Chevy Chase and none of the characters are funny.

This show to me is like a dry comedy. Not to compare the comedy style to Wes Anderson, but Wes Anderson directs comedies that I think are hilarious and I never laugh once during them. Dry sitcoms are like that for me...I rarely laugh yet I enjoy the hell out of them.

I agree that this is meant to be dry, but I don't think this episode was really intended to be all that funny in the first place. I think they're still trying to set up the show's premise. The bit with the presentation was the only really obvious comedy if you ask me.
BTW, I laughed hard in Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. The Life Aquatic...not so much. I still haven't gotten through The Darjeeling Limited.

I thought this was a fine episode, but I'm laughing at the people that say it was a big improvement over last week. It was EXACTLY the same as last week (and I enjoyed the premiere.)
While I was watching it, I was thinking "boy the DVD Talkers are going to hate this." There is absolutely no consistency with the criticism. For those that feel this way, what exactly was so much better? Because I saw the same show with the same characters behaving in the same way.

I knew most people here wouldn't like tonight's episode either but I enjoyed. I like the characters, the premise, and the stories so far. I'm in for the long haul.

I thought there were some funny bits, but so far it strikes me as trying a little too hard to fit into The Office mold, especially with the potential relationship stuff. A lot of very forced "awww, that's sweet" stuff there in the first two episodes. I think the show would do a lot better to abandon the romance angle and stick to straight-up comedic situations. It seems to have some potential in that regard. Why do we need to have some bittersweet romantic entanglement between two main characters in every sit-com these days?

I enjoyed it about as much as last week and thought I would come here to read how those who said they would give it one more shot were done with it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I just didn't see a major difference myself.
My favorite parts were the Amiee Mann montage and the Spanish teacher rant. Besides McHale the only cast member of the group that I find funny is the neurotic chick.
