Re: Free shipping @ FamilyVideo.com
I was thinking the same thing - if only we could get Hastings prices with free shipping!!!!
As it is, all the titles I would normally have jumped on from Family Video with free shipping, I already ordered from Hastings. Ended up costing pretty much the same, though.
...and for anyone that doesn't know - FamVid also ships each movie separately like Hastings does. (from various locations)

I ordered Dexter S3 Blu-Ray for $27.99. Best price I've seen...
Some decent deals on Paramount TV seasons here:

I'm thinking about getting Bosom Buddies... $12.99 each season.

Thanks for the coupon code, OP. I'm probably tapped out on the GoHastings sale. I like checking on the Family Video deals on occasion. Their shipping is pretty reasonable ($1.99 no matter the size of the order) even without the current promotion.

Re: Free shipping @ FamilyVideo.com
There was another thread a long while back about their used discs. If my memory is correct, I think about 1 in 5 had a similar experience to me while the rest were reasonably satisfied. Caveat emptor.

Re: Free shipping @ FamilyVideo.com
All my DVDs and cases have been in great condition. My only complaint has been shipping. The last time it was timely, but the all other times they would claim the DVDs had been mailed and weeks would go by and I still hadn't received them. The would remail them and miraculously I would get them.

These are NOT professional refinishing machines. After many times through the kind of machine FV uses, the DVD will be damaged.

I've ordered from FV lots of times when they had popular titles used for $4.99 & under (not this $5.99 bullshit), only had a problem with one DVD being spotless [scratch-less] but unplayable. I e-mailed them and they sent a replacement immediately and didn't even want the other one. I wouldn't think twice buying from them in the future, when the prices are right.

Re: Free shipping @ FamilyVideo.com
Has anyone ever had any delays in shipping from FV? I ordered from them just over a week ago for the first time. Two days after, three of my items shipped and I received them this week. The other two were listed as "Item Accepted" in my e-mail. They still have not shipped, and I find it odd that it takes almost 10 days to ship two used DVDs. Maybe their buffing machine died.
On a side note, one of the used DVDs I received had a huge scuff in it (not just a scratch). I called my local FV store and the manager said they would just swap the DVD out for me, which was nice. When I got there, he looked at the scuff, and said that he thought he could get it out with the buffing machine. I quietly doubted him, as years of DVD collecting made me laugh at the thought of this imperfection coming out. Lo and behold, the DVD was spotless when it came out of the machine! I have since learned my lesson, and I will never doubt the Family Video buffer again...
