I can't wait for this tonight. I'm a bit confused though. They are calling this the premiere episode, yet the Pilot aired last week. Which will be considered the actual beginning of the season? Won't new viewers be put off by the sudden introduction of the Glee club?

Fox has been promoting the heck out of this, along with showing the pilot last week. So I would think most people who have an interest probably watched the pilot already. Furthermore, I doubt the sudden introduction of a glee club would be off putting. Oh look, its the glee club! That's great, lets see the singing!

Actually, the pilot aired for the first time last May. Seems goofy to me but then most decisions made by networks strike me as odd. Maybe someone can explain why it aired last May. Testing the waters?

Totally. My wife has watched the pilot about 30 times since May. I've watched it maybe 4 or 5 times. The Director's Cut of the pilot was also quite good.
Showmance sounds like a great episode.
Now, I just need to find a "GLeek" shirt for my wife's birthday...

The show was originally planned to be a Spring Midseason series, but FOX changed their minds and pushed the show back until Fall. They already shot the Pilot, so I assume they used May as a testing ground for it.

I am so smitten with Lea Michele. But for several other reasons, I think I'm gonna like this show. Lots of different things going on that will provide good "can't wait to see what happens next week" stories.

excellent second premiere. Jane Lynch is so perfect and nails it using her patented dry wit. very fun and not as wholeseome as you would be lead to believe.

Yeah, Jane Lynch is great in this.
The line about not having a gag reflex being valuable later in life was hilarious

LOL the handouts were hilarious.
I was surprised they didn't keep it more wholesome in this fall premiere, as I'd think that would turn some of the audience off who hadn't "bought into it" yet. In one of those behind-the-scenes videos on the Net, the director even talked about how it was a show for the whole family that little kids could watch with their parents. LOL A few topics tonight I wouldn't want to have to explain to my 7-or-8-year-old yet!
Also a bit surprised they got the two leads to kiss so quickly. But hey, we'll see where they go with it all. Still a very strong episode.

The show has some problems, in my opinion, but I'm enjoying it. It's looking like it'll make it through the probation period that I put new shows on.

The only thing that bugs me is the lip syncing. All of the actors do their own singing; several are well-known Broadway actors. So why not let them sing LIVE? (Well, live as they are recording it, anyway) I understand that some scenes will require pre-recorded audio, but does it have to be so over-produced?? The scene where they rehearsed the Kanye West song was very jarring.

Love it. Mostly because I think the term "showmance" only existed in musical theater circles, and it's awesome to see it out in the world.
Just top to bottom great stuff. They are basically doing a weekly musical in a very fun and modern way. It's not "High School Musical" fluff, and has some real angst and tackles issues facing both adults and teenagers. And so far it has a kick-ass soundtrack - just bought tonight's tracks off iTunes.
Cannot wait for next week. And in high school, I totally would have gone for Rachel. Considering I was a show choir and theater geek in high school myself, I actually did go for her type on a regular basis.

Only 7 minutes in here on the West Coast and Jane Lynch already has me busting a gut.
