Re: angels and demons extended cut nov.24th

It's not like all films come out on home video in 3 or 4 months...Star Trek is coming out the week before A&D, and it was released into theaters a week before A&D as well...I've been told that The Hangover will be out at the beginning of December, and it was released in theaters the first week of June....

Anyway, glad to see the BD release will include the choice of either the theatrical or the extended cuts of the film, as The Da Vinci Code only gave us the extended on BD....I wonder if the extended cut will have to be split over two DVDs since they are not offering a seemless branching option with standard def and instead selling an individual release for the theatrical....

it is exactly because of films like star trek, hangover, terminator salvation and
angels and demons that i`ve made the statement that it reminds me of
the vhs era

Well this was a horrendous film and I doubt the Extended Cut could possible improve it at all but I am a little curious to check it out sometime in the Future.

GREAT! Loved the book but was fairly disappointed in the translation, decent movie on its own though- hopefully the new cut helps.

Am I the only one who really doesn't like the small release windows? I mean, it's like they don't even give movies a chance to breathe in theaters. I say 4 months at the least.

Meh, let them extend the window as much as they like. I've got an unwatched pile so deep I could easily take 6 months off from new releases.

I'm of two minds on the matter...
If I want to see a movie, but either don't get around to it in the theaters or I'm not willing to pay to see it in the theater, then I want it to be released on BD & DVD as quickly as possible...
However, if I do go and pay to see it in the theater, then I'd rather it take awhile to be released at home, as I'd rather have more time pass before my next viewing, and I'm not in any rush since I have actually seen it already....

Good God, the art's even worse than the art for The Da Vinci Code.

Instead of relying on Tom and his hair to sell the movie, they should have just used the teaser poster:

I don't know about anyone else, but that poster is what got me excited about the whole project.

Re: angels and demons extended cut nov.24th

The extended cut is listed as being 146 minutes by the way, which is around 7 minutes longer than the theatrical cut I believe

Re: angels and demons extended cut nov.24th

from what i can tell from the dvdactive cover pictures:
has sony now become so cheap, that not even the 2disc
special edition comes with a slipsleeve??
ok in this case the 2disc has the 7 minute longer extended cut,
but besides some fluff special features why pay 10 dollars
more!? the 2 disc packages are really having less and less value
for the buck.
i would have thought that with their new, lets cut costs by acting
eco-friendly policy, they stopped sleeves altogether, because
all the major sony releases for the past weeks have not had one,
but then i saw that "bring it on" (no idea, part 5 direct to video i think)
comes with one!!
that joke of a film comes with one and a major blockbuster doesn`t!!??
what incompetent fools run that product development department??

Not that big a deal but the Bring It On movies are Universal, not Sony.

Re: angels and demons extended cut nov.24th

I never bought Da Vinci Code because I was waiting for the extended cut. Glad it's available right off the bat with A&D but I was hoping for a box set or at least a Da Vinci release with the extended cut blu ray got earlier this year.

Sorry Larry King, but the "twist at the end" definitely did not blow my mind...in fact, I saw it coming from a mile away and I never read the book either....

The twist at the end definitely would have been more mind-blowing if they had kept
Spoiler:
the little detail about the Camerlengo being the Pope's biological son
.
