Problems with "TV Guide" Onscreen Guide

Does anyone have a TV or DVR with TV Guide built into it? Are you receiving program listings? I have a Mitsubishi HDTV and Sony HD DVR that both have it, but neither is receiving program listings. They're supposed to come from the local PBS station. I installed the latest update in the DVR from Sony's website last Saturday. The update is supposed to make it receive the listings from a digital source rather than an analog source. The web site says this is necessary because of the Digital Transition in June. I used to receive listings through analog cable TV, but it stopped getting updates in May. Also, its clock is wrong, and there's no way to manually change it. With no listings and the clock being wrong, I can't schedule recordings. Anyone else having a problem?

Re: Problems with "TV Guide" Onscreen Guide

I have a Sony DVR and I have the same problem with it. I went through the process of finding a digital host and it worked, I got guide data and time but I lost power a few weeks later and it didn't automatically pick up the host. I haven't felt like doing it again because I only use it as a back up during the season when I have 3 shows on at once.

Sorry but I don't remember the website that gave instructions about finding a new digital host but I think AVS had a bunch of info (too much info).

Oh and in Sony's shear genius they made so you can't manually set the time on the DVR.

Depending on what your cable company lets in you might need to hook up an antenna and get your host OTA

I believe that after the transition, many PBS stations no longer carry the guide data. I think it's now carried by CBS affiliates, instead.

I have the DVR hooked up to analog cable and an antenna. It used to get the update through cable. That stopped in May. I installed an update from Sony's website which is supposed to make the DVR get updates from a digital source now. I should pick up the updates OTA from PBS, CBS or whichever channel is now carrying them, but it doesn't appear to be picking up any updates at all.
