Why isn't the THE HUMAN CONDITION discounted at Amazon.com?

This is really strange. Masaki Kobayashi's epic trilogy, THE HUMAN CONDITION (1959) releasing on 09/08/09 on Criterion has been posted at the pre-order price of $79.95for quite some time. This is a head scratcher...This is still the retail price!!!!!!

At least at Deep Discount they've got it at $53.89. What is Amazon waiting for?

It probably will eventually. Just wait as street date creeps closer.
