Don't have my previous four-disc release handy to compare, but it seems that discs 1-4 of this set are essentially the same as that set (although I guess the movie will be remastered again).

As would I (for my wife)....same situation with the upcoming Wizard Of Oz BD release...hopefully Warner will come to their senses in 2010 and release these two in more reasonable standard BD editions...

That MGM documentary is brilliant - I hope that turns up on the UK set or Warner BD's are Region Free?
This is also on the Wizard of Oz set - wonder if it has all 3 parts?
Is the BD 5 discs or 2 discs?

The SD-DVD is 5 discs the Blu-Ray is 2 discs... this makes me think that a lot (if not all) of the special features will be in Standard Definition.

Re: Gone With the Wind 70th anniv. Edition - Nov 17

As far as upgrading on the previous 4-disc release, the main draw for me appears to be whether or not it's a newly-restored print. The first four discs of this new 5-disc set are indeed the same as the old, with only the "Hollywood's Greatest Year" documentary and maybe the production book tempting me toward the Ultimate Collector's Edition. If it comes down to price, I'd probably be content just to have the new 2-disc set (if it is a newly-restored print) and incorporate them with the bonus discs from the previous release, then gift out the original movie discs.

Thanks
The UK cover art I saw said it was 3 discs for Blu Ray so maybe the MGM doc will be on the UK set as well.
I dont see why it wouldnt be a newly restored print - The Wizard of Oz is purported to be.
