Another bad disaster Miniseries week----The Storm on NBC---2 parts 7/26 & 8/2
Starring:
James Van Der Beek
Treat Williams
Teri Polo
John Larroquette
Marisol Nichols
Synopsis:
A tycoon (Treat Williams) with a fixation on weather-altering technology sees one of his experiments go horribly awry, with devastating meteorological results for the planet, and only a scientist (James Van Der Beek) and a reporter (Teri Polo) are willing to challenge him and demand he shut down his system for the good of the planet. John Larroquette, Marisol Nichols.
I have the DVR set to see how bad this one is. I didn't bother with Meteor last week since I already watch Impact.

As bad as the disaster series have been, I'll probably still watch this train wreck waiting to happen. I wish I knew why.

It's got the dawson, I'll watch for no other reason then being able to throw a few lines from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back at the screen..
I mean come on, these sort of summer shows are meant to be horrible.. The only problem is that it seems NBC has forget that summer stuff like this should be campy bad. As in so bad it's sort of good, like say:
Spring Break Shark Attack
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0450326/
or Vampire Bats
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0473105/
from a few years ago.
Meteor was trying way to hard to be a drama and so far it looks like The Storm is going down the same path..

I won't be watching this, but I eagerly await the "highlights" to be shown on "The Soup" Friday.

I stumbled across this by accident last night, and watched about 10 minutes.
Treat Williams seemed to be in full-on hammy corporate villain mode and I knew when I saw satellite dishes shooting out laser beams into outer space it was not worth sticking with...

Funny thing is... this may just be better than the previous 2 meteor movies. At least I found less cringe-worthy moments during it.
