Kurt Vonnegut's Galapagos edited?

This was the first Vonnegut book I read about 10+ years ago. One thing I remembered was that the handheld computer (can't remember the name off the top of my head) would predict people's future. If a person entered that they were black or hispanic the computer would tell them that they will be dead or in jail. I recently reread it and there is no mention of this. Was it edited out or am I thinking of another book?

I highly doubt it's been edited. You're either misremembering, or somehow skipped over it on the re-read.

An easy way to test it would be to buy an old used copy of the book and read that copy.
