I've never seen these movies, but reading some reviews has me very interested. What to do, what to do...

I love The Shield, and these movies sound similar. Anyone want to vouch for a blind buy here? I've heard a million things about Dirty Harry in my life but never saw the films.

Wow, you've never seen any of them? Buy them for just watching Clint Eastwood lay down the law. They are worth it and then some. I probably would have been happy to pay a little more. It's been hard to hold on buying these, until now.

I've only seen bits and pieces of The Shield, so I can't really do a fair comparison but the Dirty Harry films laid the foundation for tough ass cops and how they're portrayed in movies and TV.

Wow. If I didn't already have this set, I'd be all over it. Would be nice if Die Hard was tomorrow, but if it's Ocean's, that's fine. I'll pass on that one. I really only liked Ocean's 11.

If I've only seen (and loved) the first, is the rest important? I've heard they decline with each subsequent one. I'm on the fence, since the original is around $15 by itself.

While it is obviously subjective, I will give you my take. Back when they came out and a few years later when watching on TV I was into all of them. When they came out with the full set on DVD I was all over it. After having watched them again my impressions have changed some.

Times have changed and these are too much a product of their time. The original Dirty Harry is a classic and highly rewatchable for me. The Enforcer is my second favorite, mainly for the interaction beween Harry and Tyne Daly's character. However, Magnum Force and Sudden Impact I don't care for the subject matter anymore. And while Dead Pool is not objectionable, it is a rental at best.

Since I bought the DVD set several years ago 3 of the 5 have already been sold off to never return. If they released them all as singles I would be tempted to rebuy Harry and Enforcer. But with a choice of either just Harry or the whole set, I would just get Harry. Hope that helps.

So are you seeing the original Dirty Harry priced right now for $15? If so, where? Or are you just referring to a price you have seen from time to time?

The Ocean's Trilogy box set was just apart of the Gold Box just a few weeks ago, I don't think they would do it again.

Die hard is a great collection. They had it as a lightning deal a few weeks back at $39.99.

The Bourne Trilogy at a sweet price would be awesome.
