I have decided to go with Monster Cable for my HT audio hookups. A friend and I are considering purchasing a 500' spool and splitting it. If I split the cables evenly, each one will be around 42'. Is that too long? Will I suffer lots of signal loss? This is the cable I was looking at, which is a great deal with a vStore coupon. http://www.vstore.com/cgi-bin/pagege...34&catID=15971
Let me know what you think. If 42' is too long, how long should each cable be?

Depends on how much power you are trying to deliver. I use monster 12 gauge and have about 30 ft runs to the rears. I am pushing 200 watts a channel. If you are using a midrange reciever with less than full range speakers in the rear it will probably be ok. Let's face it, if it is 42 ft to the rear thats how far it is and you have to make due.
