i love marley, tosh, half pint, and others from the 70s. i want some new stuff to listen to though. every new reggae i hear is basically rap with a fast reggae beat. is there anything new that has the sound of the old stuff?

The first band to pop into my head is The Aggrolites. I've had their newest album on repeat since I got it.
The Slackers and Westbound Train are also good, though they're both ska bands, so it might not be what you're looking for.

I also thought of another band for the OP to check out: Hepcat. Again, they're more of a ska band and maybe not what you're looking for, and they actually haven't put out any new material in almost 10 years but they do occasionally tour still (they're opening on Flogging Molly's upcoming tour, which is one of the more bizarre pairings I've ever seen). Out of Nowhere and Right on Time are both great albums.
