Thought those from earlier PC gaming days might be interested but rumours were true...MechWarrior is coming to both PC and 360.


The rumors were true. Veteran game designer Jordan Weisman, the creator of franchises such as Crimson Skies, Shadowrun and MechWarrior, which he acquired back from Microsoft after the software giant closed FASA Interactive, has been working with Piranha Games on a new MechWarrior game.

Weisman, the CEO and founder of Smith & Tinker, gave an interview to IGN to discuss this next-generation MechWarrior game, which has been confirmed to be developed for PC and Xbox 360.

Below you can find the first gameplay footage of the game, which confirms that this new MechWarrior game will take place , right at the beginning of what will become the Fourth Succession War.

Big robots blowing each other up! The only way to make the prior sentence more masculine would be to repeat the word "bacon" about eight times. With that said, Smith & Tinker has authorized MekTek to distribute bacon MechWarrior 4, along with its expansions, for free. This likely has just a tiny bit to do with the recently announced MechWarrior reboot.

There is currently no release date, but Smith & Tinker states "the free download will be available soon!" Yes, YES! Now to stomp to the kitchen while making Mech walking noises and fry up some bacon!

I was never into mechs, but damn if that trailer doesn't look cool as shit.
Was Mech Warrior the game that had the big console controller you could buy to play it with?

Mech Assault on original Xbox was awesome. I'd take a 360 version of that game.
