Still have your first Xbox 360?
I bought my first Xbox 360 a month or two after it launched. After three years and hundreds of hours of gaming, it decided to die on me this week
So I was curious as to who on here still has their fist 360? Or do you still have a launch console? If your 360 bit the dust how long did it last?

Whoah, major edit! I thought it said first XBox, not 360, lol. I had 2 die on me, my original launch and a Halo 3 one. I had them both returned at Walmart. Now I'm running an Elite and a Halo 3 with a 120 in it.

Still have my first and only one, a Oct 2007 model. Knock on wood but not weird lights or sounds....yet. Of course if I were like some with three or four laying around I wouldn't worry.

No. Mine was a year after launch and crapped out on me. I ended up having to send it back for replacement. Bought a newer one then. Gave the replacement to a friend, who gave me his which had spotty performance. Sold that one and washed my hands of all the launch systems.

I'm on my fourth since January 2007, each one replacing the previous.
Number one died within a week.
Number two lasted somewhere between six months and a year.
Number three made it until the summer of 2008.
Number four has been going for about a year with no signs of trouble yet (knock on wood).

Yes, but it's still in it's coffin from when I got it back from MS's repair shop.
What I've been using is an arcade unit with HDMI (one of the first ones), and that hasn't given me any problems yet.

Third. About 1.5, close to 2 years. One was a video error (lost red), the other was Unreadable Disk. Though I would rather not have had to deal with it, the return process was relatively painless. Except for the fact that they didnt' sync my licences, which we found out when we took the box to a friends house and tried to play rock band off line--half the songs wouldn't play. I had to do the lIcense transfer myself later on, and I had content on three devices.

I got my console in August 2006 and I still have it. I had to send it in for repair for RROD, but I got my same console back in less than a week.

I'm waiting for my third one to show up via UPS. 1st died in December of 2007, Red-ringed as is the usual. Second one red-ringed two weeks ago.
Annoyingly, they no longer offer the "coffin" (brown box, pre-labeled). They now have you print out a pre-paid UPS label and provide own your own box.

I'm on my 6th, my launch broke and was repaired 5 times. I finally gave up and bought a jasper arcade after my last repair. Now I keep my launch for a back up incase my jasper breaks down.

Still have my launch console and it still gets actively played. Had it repaired for RROD under warranty and go the same console back in a week.
I recently got a screaming deal on a second console, its a 60 GB Pro. I wanted the 60 GB drive and a 360 with HDMI for another TV, so I could stream media to both rooms.

I would like to say though it is really easy for us to knock the 360 and it deserves it because it is the bigger case of negligence out there for video games. But I had 4 ps2'S 1 I broke the othe ones failed and none of them were warranty replaced. I had 4 psones the first one was a u5 so I'm sure that broke because of me and the other 3 just brokedown none of those were warranty replaced either.

Seeing this tells me one thing about the 360...it must be one Hell of a machine for people to rebuy the same console repeatedly. I know I couldn't go a week without one, regardless of price. Of the two that died on me, I had it replaced within 12 hours both times. If I had to send mine off to get fixed, I would buy another one just so I wouldn't have to go without for that long.

I would buy one the same day if mine dies again out of warranty. I have a PS3 but the 360 is a much more polished experience.

My second console, non launch.... Apparently, I shouldn't feel so badly about it compared to others' experiences.

I still have my first, bought at launch. However, when the Jaspers were getting easier to find, I bought a second one that's become my main 360, I think that was a few months ago; I wanted HDMI, but I was also afraid it was going to kick the bucket soon.

First one died after 25 months (with two-year warranty purchased from Overstock) in late 2008. Got repaired badly in Texas and sounded like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang upon return. Sent it back, then sold the re-repaired model (same SN# after two repair rounds) to an employee and bought a much quieter Arcade with a Jasper. That's been fine so far.

On my 3rd.
Got the 360 in 07 and it died two days short of a year (disc read error). It was replaced by MS, and that one lasted a few weeks over a year (RRoD). Got that one back and it went two days before it froze up with white static. Just got the replacement in from UPS this afternoon. We'll see how long this one lasts.

No. My Pro lasted about a year and a half. When I got it back from repair, I sold it on Craigslist. Thanks to a Dell coupon, I was able to upgrade to Jasper for around $10 after all was said and done.

Re: Still have your first Xbox 360?
My first one was purchased several months after launch. Once the RROD problems started being reported, I sold mine. I waited long enough to purchase a Jasper Arcade.
