I am looking at buying speakers from Amazon.com using GC's I've gotten and was wondering what everyone would recommend for HT. I want the best price/performance ratio and I'm currently considering the JBL S310 or 312's, although they are pretty expensive. All input is appreciated, thanks!

I'd say the JBL studio speakers look the best from what's on the site. A bit on the pricey side though but if you are using gc's then I guess shopping elsewhere isn't an alternative. You might want to consider getting the S-38 bookshelf speakers. Many have raved about it. That's my 2 cents worth. I currently have the S-center and love it.

I also currently have the JBL S-Center and LOVE IT!! I am saving Amazon GC's for the matching S-38 bookshelf speakers (will order them within the next week)...

Just my thoughts on it...note: I have heard the S-38's and to me anyways, they are one of the best "heavily marketed" speakers I have ever heard...

I just wish I had $500 amazon dollars to get the S-38's. Question is... once i get them, how the heck do you mount them?

I still need about $500 more in Amazon GC's, so it will be a while before I pick up those badboys. I think I prefer the S310's over the S38's because they will be my main speakers in my HT system, and I want big ones. Now that firstlook is changing it's payout to 1/2 what it is now, this is gonna suck! Hopefully Jaboom will be the way to go...dah!

I have owned a pair of S310's for a couple weeks now and I LOVE THEM! I am getting the S-Center and I have already ordered the JBL 15" sub for $269. I am still not sure what to do about surround speakers though. I am unsure if I want another pair of S310's for surround speakers or if I want the S38 bookshelfs. The reason I am torn is because my dad wants to keep the S310's here when I go to school, so I think I want to order more S310's because they are so sweet. Okay, enough rambling. Here's the question: Do tower speakers sound good when used as surround speakers?
