Nine Inch Nails - Small Shows in NYC, Chicago, LA in August
Damn NIN in Bowery Ballroom, I am gonna go for that show, though will probably be impossible to get into. Also The Horrors might be opening, love their new album.
"Getting right to the point, we're going to play a handful of shows in NYC, Chicago and LA starting August 22nd. They will be informal affairs in medium to small venues with longer set-lists, possible special guests, cool openers and other surprises. Upon reflection, the NIN/JA tour felt like we had to rush through sets due to a limited allotted set length and many shows were in daylight - it just didn't feel right to end NIN that way. An offer to headline V-Fest in Toronto (being announced soon) set the idea in motion to play some FUN shows to end this up with. If we can get it together we'll film these shows, too.
In NYC we'll be playing Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall and Terminal 5. In Chicago, the Aragon Ballroom. In LA we'll be at The Wiltern, The Henry Fonda, The Palladium and The Echoplex. These should be cool, unusual and unique shows and I hope you come out - this is it.
So far, The Horrors will be joining us for some shows in NYC, Mew will be with us at other shows in NYC, Chicago and LA, and perhaps more.
Details and ticket info will be announced shortly, so check back."
As always, a significant percentage of the best tickets for the shows will be reserved for exclusive pre-sale on NIN.com. In this case, NIN.com pre-sale will include every ticket for the most intimate farewell shows at New York's Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall and Los Angeles' Henry Fonda Theater and Echoplex.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NIN.com pre-sales will begin July 17 with general on-sales following July 31.
The Horrors will support the August 22, 23 and 25 New York dates. Mew will support August 28 in Chicago and September 2 and 3 in Los Angeles. Support for the remaining dates will be announced at a later date.

I would love to see this, but I'm not sure it's worth a drive from Denver. I saw them on their club tour a few years back, so that will probably be plenty. I'd love to have a 2.5 hour set from them, where they focus primarily on Broken through The Fragile.

I'm going to try to go to Bowery or Webster, but I'm not too optimistic about getting tickets. Terminal 5 sucks, and I will never be going back there.

While I'm glad I have another chance to go since I missed out on the last Chicago show, the Aragon isn't my favorite place in the world... only went there once, but you know a place has pretty bad sound when you're seeing two of your favorite bands and it takes you a good 15 seconds to realize what song they're playing. :-/

I can get over Terminal 5 for the right band.
it looks like they will be playing 4 dates in NY, 2 at 1 venue.
(which will probably be Terminal 5 for the size)

I will kill to see them at all 3 shows, but I will definitely be happy if I get tickets to one. I think since they will be playing longer sets and these will be their final shows, they should do something they've never done before and play full album sets. Maybe Broken-TDS one night, Fragile the next night and With Teeth or Year Zero the third? I think that might be cool.

I've seen NIN at both small venues and large ones, and I personally thought the shows at larger venues were much better. I tried to get tickets to the Bowery and Webster Hall shows and wasn't successful. I've heard enough bad things about Terminal 5 to give up on seeing them one last time. Fortunately I got to see them last year on the Slip tour and it was the best NIN show I've seen.

I tried for Webster and Bowery, but got stuck in some line, and never got a chance. I hate Terminal 5, so all I can hope is there are some good quality video/audio taken at these gigs.

For the show at the Terminal 5, does anyone know if non-presale tickets are only going to be available at NIN.com? I didn't have a chance on the NIN.com website, it just dragged and dragged and then it wouldn't even load.

Re: Nine Inch Nails - Small Shows in NYC, Chicago, LA in August
So I went to the Palladium show last night. Trent said he was sick, so I think they cut it a little short. Still, they played a solid 2 hours and pulled out lots of great hits. Gary Numan came out and did two songs, one of which was "Cars". All in all, it was amazing for my first time at a NIN show.
Edit: found the setlist. I guess they did play all of Downward Spiral. Also, looks like tonight's show has been postponed due to Trent's illness.
01. Mr Self Destruct
02. Piggy
03. Heresy
04. March Of The Pigs
05. Closer
06. Ruiner
07. The Becoming
08. I Do Not Want This
09. Big Man With A Gun
10. A Warm Place
11. Eraser
12. Reptile
13. The Downward Spiral
14. Hurt
15. 1,000,000
16. Terrible Lie
17. Lights In The Sky
18. Burn
19. Gave Up
20. Suck
21. Metal (with Gary Numan)
22. Cars (with Gary Numan)
23. The Hand That Feeds
24. Head Like A Hole
