According to a Los Angeles based newspaper, DirecTV to add network channels.
DirecTV, Inc., said Thurday it has signed Retransmission Consent Agreements with 11 station groups in preparation to expanding its local channel offerings.
For those Los Angeles viewers this means, they will eventually add channels KTLA (Channel 5), KCAL (Channel 9) and KCOP (Channel 13 -UPN). A fifth local channel could be offered sometime this summer or in the fall, DirecTV said.
This means Los Angeles viewers will now be able to record on their TiVo, Star Trek, WB programs, Dodger Games and Laker Games (not on Fox Sports Channels), and other programs OTA. So for those of you hanging on to your Cable...time to cancel very soon.

This will be great. I love watching Star Trek, but presently I have to watch it on my computer with a pair of rabbit ears.

I've had Dish Network for several years and we've had UPN and WB the whole time. They have KTLA, KWGN, WPIX, WWOR, and one other I can't remember. With stations in New York, Denver and LA, you get wide range. Makes for great Buffy and Voyager watching!
