Curious as to what everyone's internet speed is for online gaming? I am trying to figure out what package I should get.
TIA!

i play on xbox live only.
i have a slow connection since i live in a rural area. 1.5 mb down/384 bps up
for me, this seems to be efficient for gaming, i haven't had much lag. however, i can't stream good quality from netflix with this slow of a speed. the movies are very bad quality.
i can't believe i pay 40 bucks a month for this connection, but it is the only choice i have available.

It's hard to tell, because I've got my internet bundled with my TV. I think the internet service is $60. But when you add in the modem rental and mysterious fees/taxes the price goes up.
All together, with high speed internet, cable TV, HDTV, HBO & Showtime, DVR service, equipment (2 HD-DVR boxes, 2 SD cable boxes, 1 cable modem), and all the mysterious fees/taxes, it comes out to about $190 a month.

You don't really need very much speed for online gaming, having low latency is more important. Depending on the amount of voice chat an hour of gameplay isn't going to be more then 20 or 30 MB.

Looks like the going average for Comcast. My speeds finally reached this point after I got off my lazy butt and bought a new modem. I had an old RCA that was very flaky.

I was being serious....it seems fine for XBLive, but on my PC it annoys me sometimes at being slower than other cable companies I used around the country.
