Which Game Should I Buy - Oblivion or Fable 2?
I've been thinking about this for quite awhile now and I really haven't came to a conclusion. I've played the first Fable and thought it was a great game and I thought the graphics were pretty good as well. I've also played Morrowind and thought it was fun but almost too long for me to play. I need opinions from other gamers. I'm leaning more toward Oblivion but not sure.
If you could only pick one, Oblivion or Fable 2, which one would it be? Don't forget to mention how the gameplay as well as the graphics are of each game. Thanks in advance.

Definitely get Obliviion. The game of the year edition is down to $20 now. It includes all the expansion packs. With the amount of time you spend on the game, when you finish it Fable 2 will be lower in price.

God, they're as different as two RPGs can be. Oblivion is very deep, but easy to get lost or confused. There's a lot of character building and you can make your character anything from a thief to a thug to a monk. Fable 2 is much more straightforward and probably more fun, at least to mess around with. It's far, far shorter and can be completed in 20 hours or so. It's certainly shallower with basically two choices : Good or Evil. They both look good, perhaps Fable 2 looks better. If you liked Fable, you'll like Fable 2. If you liked Morrowind, you'll probably like Oblivion. Don't forget about Fallout 3 as well, probably a better game than either of your finalists.
And if you're thinking about Oblivion, don't forget that a combo pack of it and Bioshock is coming very soon for $29.99. A great deal if you don't already have it.

Definitely get Oblivion. It blows away Morrowind in comparison. Like the earlier post said, grab Fable 2 when it drops more in price. Or both can be had for around $50 total and are well worth it.

I'll probably be the only person to vote Fable 2, but I give it the edge because it's fairly easy to pick up and play in smaller increments. I tried to get into Oblivion, but gave up when it became apparent it would take far more time than I had available to put into it. Now I'm going to contradict myself and agree with the poster who advised Fallout 3 over either of the options. That game also took way more time than I could afford to put into it, but it hooked me so quickly that I ended up playing the hell out of it anyway.

Of the two, I enjoyed Fable 2 more.
Add me to the write-in for Fallout 3 as well. I think Fallout 3 > Fable 2 > Oblivion.
Both Fallout 3 and Fable 2 had more 'personality' and life than Oblivion, in my opinion. Fable is more linear and certainly can be much shorter than Oblivion.

Lol. I think we all think alike. Yeah, I already bought Fallout 3, played it to death, loved it much! Soon planning on getting the expansions. But I'm having a hard time deciding on these two games. I might get Oblivion because I love the company behind it (same one who did Fallout 3). Yeah I might get both eventually. Thanks for all the input. Oh and I might get the Bioshock - Oblivion twin pack. Sounds like a good deal.

Fallout 3 is a post-apocalyptic Oblivion with more frustrating battle mechanics, imo. Oblivion is still the best next-gen game I've played, and it's going to take a lot to knock it off its throne. So I say Oblivion.

Since I've had my xbox360, these are the only two games I've bought and completed. I would say Oblivion has far more difficult (relatively) quests overall. Although, there is something to be said for how easy it is for a lesbian to pick up chicks in Fable2. I asked a co-worker what I should followup Fable2 with, he said Fallout 3 so I guess I'll be picking that one up soon.

I have to say I absolutely hated Fable II so I too cast my vote for the write in candidate F3.

I haven't played much of Fable, but I can't really get into it like I did with Oblivion. Oblivion is hands down one of the best games this generation. I think if they added some Fallout 3-type improvements to the next game, it could be heading towards best game ever.

If you thought Morrowind was a bit too expansive, then Fable 2 should be your choice so that gets my vote. But i'd also pick Fallout 3.

Fable 2 was alright. First RPG style game I ever really got into. I picked up Oblivion for 30 bucks a month ago and I've been playing it non stop. It seems like you never run out of things to do. I'm finding it much more fullfilling. It seems like Fable 2 ended too quickly. I'm a big yes for Oblivion.

Oblivion might be "superior". Huge world, many quests, different paths you could follow. But I enjoyed Fable 2 more.
Maybe Oblivion was just a little too big for me, and too open ended. I didn't like having 20 quests going at one time, some of which were "Find 25 of these things throughout the world." Combat, especially spell casting, was also a little clunky to me. Also, apart from a few instances, I didn't really feel attached to the characters or the world. I'll probably go back and finish, or at least work on it, some more, but right now I'm working on some other things in my backlog.
