I just upgraded my front mains and replaced the Infinity RS4's I was using. These were tower speakers. Would it make sense to move them to the back and use them as rear effects, or better to continue to use the book shelf speakers that I am using now that sit on stands? (Infinity RS3's) By the way the only difference between the RS4 and RS3 is that the RS4 was put in a tower case (more bass), exact same speaker configuration.

In this setup it's up to you. If you have the surrounds running full range, then it may make a diffrence (most likely not). If you are filtering out the bass, then the RS3's are already overkill.

One speaker may voice match with your new mains better then the other. A\B them and use the ones that match better.
