I went to the Norwood superstore over the weekend and they had a table out front with tons of TV box sets , Adventures of Superman season 2 $9.99 , a lot of seasons of Dalllas for $9.99 each.
Also Wonder Woman , Flinstones (various seasons)$9.99 , Tales of the Crypt (these were $14.99 a season) Just want to let everyone know around the Boston area, it was a pretty big display very unusual to see this at a Newbury Comics.

Also of note the clerk told me that to keep an eye out for Newbury on Twitter
the last couple of weeks they have run 30% off sales on vinyl and CDs and he thought the next one would be for DVDs!
He also said they usually happen on Thursdays ......I guess the Email club is dead for such goodies, gotta stay HIP!

Thanks for the heads up. Ever since they put a Newbury Comics in the nearby mall here in CT it's made the dreadful place worth going to here and there.

Hmm, that's what I was wondering too. Like do they put signs up in the store, or is it a "secret sale". I might print the Twitter page out if I go with my friends. It might be a good idea.

At the Newbury Street location, they attach little signs to the racks of whatever sections are on sale (last week it was vinyl, the week before it was used CDs...). Also, the sales have been on Thursdays, at least for the past three weeks.

Ah, thanks for the information man. About to head out to the store at the mall pretty soon. There's always tons of titles that are fringe buys but this 30% off could put them over to must buy. Sweeeet.

Just about to come in to Bargains to post this sale. Walked right into it while over at the Natick store. The guy behind the counter stated that for the forseeable future these Thursday Twitter sales would be ongoing. Each week - something new apparently.

Anyway I was just going up there when my brakes gave out ...Damn I almost got killed but luckily made it to my mechanics place!!!!
You don't realize how fast people drive until you lose your brakes ...I was trying to go a little slow and everyone was on my a**!

A friend (who also constantly frequents Newbury Comics) and I also discussed the same point - about the email club. Seems a bit strange indeed. Though realistically, the consistency of their general operations is all over the map (buy backs, bootlegs, etc.).

I believe this may be starting as a promo deal specifically for their Twitter presence. Then again, there doesn't seem to be a point by keeping the e-club in the dark. I spent about $100 in there today on used stuff (which essentially carries their business). If they want to lose potential sales ..it's their own problem Perhaps it will carry over eventually. Who knows.

I'm loving these Twitter sales these past few weeks! Picked up a few used DVDs yesterday @ Natick. And just a heads up... ER Seasons 7 and 9 have been on sale for $9.99 for the past few weeks (I think some of the earlier seasons might be as well, but I didn't notice since I already have them). Gotta love Newbury Comics!!
