Re: Best Buy Blu Sale

First Blood for $9.99 is tempting. That's the only Rambo movie I really like.

I can usually find good deals thru Amazon better than BB. BB "sale price" is sometimes the normal Amazon price. I'm saving some with the no-tax plus don't have to drive 22 miles round trip.

Yeah, the cheapest you can get it is for around $14 on Amazon with a 3-Pack bundle. Boondock Saints, Donnie Darko, and one other title I can't remember. The 3-Pack is $42.99.

Re: Best Buy Blu Sale

Guess I will have to get a price adjustment at BB for T2 since it is now $5 cheaper than it was last week. I used a RZ cert on it though, so my receipt shows that it was like $17.40 with the cert. Anyone know how they handle that, do I get the full $5 back or am I screwed out of the $2.60 from the RZ cert? Not that that little bit of money matters, but I am very curious because I always try to use my certs strategically to avoid this exact situation.

Not sure on price adjustments as the last time I encountered a similar issue it was complicated and the manager had to come take care of it. However, I have been told that if you return something and buy something else on the spot, they can apply the RZ cert on the new item. So if you haven't opened your T2 yet, you can just get another one at the store. Good luck!

Re: Best Buy Blu Sale

Are these prices reflective in the store as well? Would love to pick up Dog Soldiers and Boondock Saints at $12.

Re: Best Buy Blu Sale

I was in BB this morning and there were lots of titles on sale. Of course, they do it again with T2, by pricing it cheaper in its 2nd week of release. I hope I can find my receipt.

They've done a better job lately of having the same prices as the website. T2 was tagged at $14.99. I don't think it was listed in the sales flyer.

Yes. I just went to a BB to get my hands on a couple of the 9.99 movies (and to see how long the sale was in effect - 7/4/09 for alot the movies). There are sale stickers all over the place in the BD section.

Your biggest problem going into the stores is going to be if the title you want is in stock. My suggestion to make sure you're not wasting a trip is to put each title you want in the cart and then choose the "pick up" option to see what stores near you have them. If you're going to strike out with local stores not carrying what you want, just buy them online and get the free shipping. Then, it's win win.

Of course, I could have followed my own advice this morning with Dirty Dancing not being at the one store I had time to visit.

Re: Best Buy Blu Sale

Best Buy's space is limited. They often only have a handful of copies of catalog titles out, giving more room to the new releases. They could easily have them in the back if you don't see it on the shelf.

Re: Best Buy Blu Sale

Went to Best Buy before I headed to the gym this afternoon.

Went in with the intent of picking up Boondock Saints and Dog Soldiers.

Purchased those two along with Repo! The Genetic Opera and Rambo.

Had to get Dog Soldiers price matched as it was $14.99 in the store whereas it was $12.99 on the website. I'll have to pop in Dog Soldiers to see if the Blu-ray is that horrible.

Re: Best Buy Blu Sale

Amazon usually updates their sale prices on Monday. Hopefully they'll drop prices to match the BB sale.

The DVD wasn't anything of spectacular quality. Might've not helped that it was a dual-layer disc with both the widescreen and full frame version cramped on the disc with a 30-minute featurette. It's a low-budget horror film shot mostly at night, wasn't expecting visuals that would blow me away.

Just one more away from owning the entire Neil Marshall collection on Blu. Picked up The Descent for $10 the other day at Wal-Mart; would love for the price on Doomsday to go down.
