I am considering upgrading my receiver to one that includes DTS sound. I am currently using a Sony STR-DE725, which has sufficient power for my apartment size and speakers but which lacks DTS. Can someone recommend DTS receivers of roughly equivalent power and cost? Which brands are favored, which disfavored? Any particular features to look out for?
Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I have the Onkyo 575 got it for $400 shipped.. but there are better deals out there ( was through pointclick).
All I can say is that I love this receiver.
before you decide on a reciever check out www.audioreview.com and see what others say... the onkyo got like a 4.6/5 I think.

Onkyo 575 is a popular choice. The Yamaha 795a will run $425-$450.
If your receiver has 6 channel inputs and you are happy with the amplifier's performance (power, coloration, dynamics, etc), look into a SEPARATE PROCESSOR instead of buying a new receiver.
The Technics SH-AC500D is a DD&DTS processor that will decode DVD digital to 6 channel analog which can be feed into a ready receiver. B&M list is $300. Refurbished units are going for $169 from refurbishedstore.com . Panasonic outlet stores have a comparable price.
24bit/96kHz plus 4 digital audio input channels. A very cost effective way of getting quality DTS. You could save a few pennies until DD-EX receviers/processors come down is price.
