Halloween
Alien
Dawn of the Dead
The rest of the matchups I either haven't seen both movies, or don't prefer one over the other enough to vote.

Halloween '78 (No contest, even though Evil Dead is a lot of fun.)
Alien (One of the great movies of all time, period. Should be no contest but apparently it is.)
Night of the Living Dead '68 (Toughest choice on here, both are among the greatest movies, but I had to go with this one because it has been so enormously influential.)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74 (Another tough choice, but I went with the most influential one again.)
The Silence of the Lambs (Dawn of the Dead is great, but we already went there with NotLD.)
Psycho: Original (The only NO CONTEST on this list.)
Jaws (Because it's Jaws. Plus, Alien is a much better film than Aliens, good as it is.)
The Exorcist (How can you not vote for that one? It would be a more difficult choice if it was up against Bride of Frankenstein, which is a far superior film to Frankenstein.)

Halloween - Love both but this is the obvious choice.
Alien - Sorry Freddy, you can't compete here.
NOTLD - Sooooo tough. I might pick this today but The Shining tomorrow.
TCM - No contest.
Dawn - Sorr Hannibal.
The Thing - Ugh hated choosing between these.
Jaws - Easy choice.
The Exorcist - Sorry Boris.

The Evil Dead
Don't like either one
The Shining (NOTLD is great, but The Shining is in my top ten)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Fuck David Fincher)
The Silence of the Lambs (This one was so close that I almost didn't vote, but in the end I went with Hannibal the Cannibal)
Psycho (Incredibly easy choice)
Jaws (Another very easy choice)
Frankenstein (Another very easy choice)

#1 - Halloween, although Evil Dead would make my top ten.
#2 - Alien easily over Nightmare on Elm Street.
#3 - Very tough call, but today I'll pick Night of the Living Dead over The Shining.
#4 - Don't care at all for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so Se7en.
#5 - Abstain. Imagine it would end up being Silence of the Lambs, but don't think I've seen Dawn of the Dead.
#6 - Another tough choice, but The Thing gets watched a lot more than Psycho in this house.
#7 - Love Aliens, but don't think of it as a horror, more an action or buddy war flick. But in any case, Jaws is probably my favorite film of all-time.
#8 - Both would be top ten, but today I'll go Frankenstein over The Exorcist.
