#1 - Abstain. Pretty sure I haven't watched Dawn of the Dead, although Friday the 13th wouldn't make it any farther in my mind's tournament.
#2 - Silence of the Lambs is probably in my top 5 horror, and easily beat Rosemary's Baby here.
#3 - Psycho of course, although I like all the Final Destination films.
#4 - Abstain. The Thing probably wins my tournament, but I don't think I've seen Nightmare on Elm Street 3.
#5 - Wait, I forgot about Jaws. Don't consider Jaws to be a horror film really, but it is perhaps my favorite film of all-time, and I hope my sleeper pick of Shaun of the Dead bows out gracefully.
#6 - Aliens is much weaker than Alien, but beats Scream by a bit.
#7 - The Exorcist is one of the few films that genuinely scares me, although The Sixth Sense would finish in the top half of this group for me.
#8 - Frankenstein by a mile. Saw wouldn't make my top 100.

Dawn - I love F13 series but they really aren't great films. Dawn is amazing.
Silence of the Lambs - iffy on horror label but I'll pick it anyway.
Psycho - no contest
The Thing - Big Freddy fan but it can't beat The Thing.
Jaws - Tough to vote against Shaun but it can't touch Jaws.
Aliens - Not as good as Alien but way better than Scream.
The Exorcist - Not close.
Frankenstein - ditto

These are my wife's votes. I would have gone with Shaun of the Dead and Frankenstein.

How is Shaun of the Dead not a horror film? It would certainly fall under the horror-comedy hybrid genre, but, like The Frighteners, Dead Alive and Frankenhooker, it is first and foremost a horror movie.

Matchup #3 - Final Destination - Yeah, I know. Psycho is a much better movie, but I would prefer to watch FD 99 times out of 100.
