Which film should MERYL STREEP have won the Oscar?

She was nominated for 11 nearly consecutive Best Actress Oscars, but I think the Academy feels she's done well enough to not win anymore. Or so it would seem to me.

The last Oscar victory was for 1982's Sophie's Choice, for Best Actress. Prior to that, she won Best Supporting Actress for 1979's Kramer Vs Kramer.

Since that, she's done some fine work, and was nominated time and again.......but no statue. I can definitely see that maybe other actress's works were more deserving....but if not, which nominated role/film do you think she should have won for?

Best Actress nominations

01: The French Lieutenant’s Woman – 1981
02: Silkwood – 1983
03: Out of Africa – 1985
04: Ironweed – 1987
05: A Cry In The Dark – 1988
06: Postcards From The Edge – 1990
07: The Bridges of Madison County – 1995
08: One True Thing – 1998
09: Music of the Heart – 1999
10: The Devil Wears Prada – 2006
11: Doubt - 2008

In additional to this list, she was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for The Deer Hunter (1978) and Adaptation (2002)

I voted for Silkwood, but she was amazing in A Cry In The Dark as well. I'm okay with her not winnig for the rest of those BEST ACTRESS nods. I would have given her one for Adaptation, though. In that film, she was at least as good as Chris Cooper, who did win.

Ironweed.

She should have won for that.

Which also had Jack Nicholson's best performance in it, in my opinion. And if he were gonna win, he should have won for that too.

She should have won at least two or three others but most definitely for The French Lieutenant's Woman.

Great actress. Tough poll. But the stand outs for me were "One True Thing", "French Lieutenant's Woman", "Out of Africa", "Doubt" and "Silkwood". As well as the deserving win for "Sophie's Choice".

Her nomination in The Devil Wears Prada should have been for Supporting Actress, which she should have won that instead of Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls.
