Re: Comedy/Horror Tournament Round #1/Group #1

I havnt seen The Great Outdoors so didnt vote in the first match-up.....

Hellbound: Hellraiser II
Coming to America (They dont make em like they used to. Just a fun movie.)
Child's Play (Ringu is scarier but Child's Play is infinitely more re-watchable. And Brad Dourif IS fantastic in it.)
Used Cars (USed Cars is one of teh top 10 funniest films of all time. At least on my list it is. A Chrismas Story I find to be an EXTREMELY overrated depressing piece of shit that looks like it cost about $5 to make. I think Uwe Boll is a better filmmaker than Bob Clark.)

Great Outdoors - sure MASH is the classic but I laugh at this more.
Hellraiser II - love both movies, hate to see one go, but Hellraiser 2 is better.
Clue - wow tough matchup but Clue is a fav comedy of mine.
Child's Play - another one where I love both, but original Chucky is awesome, before he became a silly comedian.
Used Cars - I don't laugh much at Christmas Story, I do at Used Cars.

A Christmas Story is a much watch each year for me. I voted for it here, but wonder how it will do here considering it's not a movie anyone would stick in the other 10 1/2 months during the year.

Funny, so far all three comedy matchups are close while the two horror matchups are 7-2.

I love Clue, but if Coming to America loses in round 1 I will be oh so sad and confused.

Coming to America
Child's Play
Christmas Story

For some reason I thought these were going to be 2 separate tournaments, 1 for horror and 1 for comedy. Great job on these Woody "The Bracket Man".

They are two seperate tournies. I am just mixing the matchups together for some variety

Comedy Tourney
Horror Tourney

i think i would rather them be separate as well. it is a little confusing and you can think a comedy will go against a horror.

I love Clue, but there is NO way that it beats Coming to America.

Question to all the Clue lovers - Do you actually find the movie funny, like make you laugh out loud?

I really do love the movie and will watch it anytime I catch it on TV, but I dont really find it 'funny' I think the quirkiness of it is what I find appealing but, I cant remember ever really laughing at it.

Just me?

Used Cars made my top ten list, but I couldn't vote for it over A Christmas Story, which did not make my list....

Okay, now I see that. Good idea. When I called you Woody "The Bracket Man" I had that "Scat Man" song in my head for some reason...lol. You planning on adding the bracket links to your sig?

You may be right. The quirkiness of the concept and the great cast make it enjoyable, but maybe not so much LOL funny.

However, watching paint dry is funnier than Coming to America.

Well I tried to make it less confusing using the bold and such. Would others like these seperate as well?

Again the tournies are seperate, just the polls are mixed. If people thought I wasn't flooding the forum, I would do comedy one day and horror the next. What does everyone think?

Yes, I do indeed find several LOL moments in Clue. One of my faves.

I like how you've done it. As long as people realize that it is two separate tournies and comedy and horror will never meet, I think they'll be fine with it.

What's your plan on how often to start a round?
