No big surprises here. Crank 2 did poorly but will be huge once it hits homevideo. Hannah is down 77% from last Friday, second only to Dragonball which was down 78% from last Friday. Of course, since last Friday was a school kid day off, this also isn't a big surprise.

Hopefully the success of "17 Again" will get "Me and Orson Welles" released.

Sad to see Burr Steers make something like 17 Again after the very good Igby Goes Down...
Poor Jason Statham. The man has gotta be one underperformer from a career as a straight-to-dvd action guy like Wesley Snipes or Steven Seagal.
I wouldnt be surprised to see State of PLay have better than average legs and possible make it to $45 million but that may not be enough considering the cost of that cast.

Poor Jason Statham? Hasn't he said in interviews he only does movies to collect the paycheck? I'm sure he doesn't care how Crank 2 performs so long as he gets paid.

Reports say Cranks budget was only 14 mil, so it will do fine in the long run. Plus Statham says he only wants to do action movies, so hes good.

Additionally, Crank 1 opened in 2006 with 10m, made 27m by the end of its us run, another 16m worldwide, and 30m on DVD. If this one opens with 10m, it should do comparable business, although it's insane, so who knows.

This is a film that will make it's money from international sales, video and television; not from a theatrical run. It'll be close to breaking even theatrically (considering it makes $6-7 million this weekend, $14-20 million domestic total), so Lionsgate and Lakeshore won't be disappointed at all.

Exactly. The first Crank made $27 million in theaters, $30 million in DVD sales, and another $30 million in rentals. That's just in the US alone. So almost $90 million in the US for a low budgeted film starring Jason Statham. Crank 2 will prove to be profitable no matter what it makes in theaters.

Hey, as long as they make Crank 3D, I'll be happy. This magnum opus of cinematic hyperactive retardation isn't complete without the final chapter.

Early reports have it making about $6.5m and with sequel legs it'll probably finish around $16m (the original had a 2.66 multiplier). But it should still do well between DVD and BD sales.

Yeah, I read that somewhere too. But I hope he was joking. I really like Statham. And wish he'd get a new agent. Because I hate hearing him being compared to the likes of Wesley Snipes and Steven Seagal. He has so much potential and he is a million times better than those hacks. I would like to see Statham do more work like "The Bank Job". Or just a drama. Maybe even a "Get Shorty" like comedy. But NO rom-coms!

If only they'd combined TRANSPORTER 3 and CRANK 2, like I suggested months ago. (CRANKPORTER? TRANSCRANKER?) T3 could have used some of C2's energy and lunacy. And C2, apparently, could have used some of the Transporter polish.
Oh, and I'd take Amy Smart over T3's Ukrainian chick in a heartbeat. (So to speak.)

Hopefully Crank 2 will look just as pretty as Crank on Blu-ray.

They could have just substituted the annoying girl from Transporter 3 for Bai Ling in Crank 2 and it'd be just dandy.

I'm going to jump in and say I'm one of the few people that didn't hate the female in "Transporter 3". And actually got a kick out of her. For being a hairdresser discovered on the street and this being her first film, she was o.k. And light years better than the Asian girl in the first "Tranporter" movie.

She definitely wasn't okay, that had to be the worst performance I've ever seen in a decent budget film that had good distribution. She was beyond horrible!!!! lol
