Jack Lemmon Film Collection: 6/9/09

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a Jack Lemmon Film Collection which includes Phffft!, Operation Mad Ball, The Notorious Landlady, Under The Yum Yum Tree, and Good Neighbour Sam. The 6-disc package will be available to own from the 9th June, and should retail at around $59.95. Extras will include Jack Lemmon: The Man behind the Magic-Part 1 & 2, a Vintage Photo Gallery, and the “Marriageable Male” episode of Ford All-Star Theatre.

Same here - Good Neighbor Sam is awesomeness on many levels. The movie fascinated me as a kid due to that crazy contraption in the back yard. The mock filming of a Hertz Commercial was pretty unforgettable. And the "mad mad world" style task they had to undertake with the billboards was likewise very funny. The cast is outstanding - in addition to Jack Lemmon there is a very sexy Romy Schneider, Dorothy Provine and Edward G. Robinson!
Under the Yum Yum Tree also has a good cast - Edie Adams, Imogene Coca, Paul Lynde and a last look at Dean Jones before he went all Disney!

I read that Lemmon didn't want Under The Yum Yum Tree released. Saying that to him, this was his worst movie. To me, that movie was good. It reminds me of the pilot to Three's Company. With a twist.
