So I am browsing through the old releases, and I see this film called The Wolf Man with Lon Chaney on the cover in wolf man makeup. I don’t have to even read the film description. I know it is just another slap at the face of monsters.

Sadly, I can’t recall one single movie by a major studio which portrayed monsters in a positive light. Monsters, Inc. offered some positive monster elements, but hard to include that film since it uses kid-friendly animated monsters. Totally unnecessary. If you can get past the cuddly creatures and celebrity voices, Aliens vs. Monsters can be seen as pro-monster (although it can be argued that Aliens are included in the monster genre). But a film that completely demonstrates monsters in a positive light? Not a chance.

It is almost like the heads of studios have a deep rooted liberal atheist mindset, and they are determined to present their world views on film. Instead, their idea of monsters is Frankenstein. A guy who pieces together dead people to create a monster in an offensive manner to all Monsters

Whenever we do see monsters portrayed on film, it is almost always in the form of murderers. You have some corrupt vampire doing bad things, or a giant insect eating people, or in the case of Godzilla, a giant lizard who likes to stomp buildings. The fact that Hollywood represents a world where scary creatures are the only form of monsters is offensive enough. For the uneducated, many of the monster teachings and practices are not even found in the monster handbook.

They are completely clueless about a huge region in the United States known as the Monster Belt. Millions of monsters attend church every Sunday in a fashion that is almost never represented on film. The closest example I’ve seen is the church scenes done in The Munsters and The Addams Family which were financed outside Hollywood by Robert Duvall (or something like that).

So why do we even need movies about monsters? Because obviously, there is a high demand for it. Mothra was a grass roots film made outside the Hollywood machinery. The film was a massive success, and even more so on dvd. The dvd remains on Amazon’s bestseller list. The film was also mocked and panned by Hollywood. If it is really that bad, why would people buy the dvd?

There is a huge market for positive monster films, yet Hollywood’s hatred will not even let profit sway them.

It's because nobody wants to see a movie about a monster that holds on to his morals. It doesn't create conflict that's needed in film.

At least Monster.com helps to cultivate a positive image for monsters by helping people find jobs.

Give me a break. Hollywood doesn't portray ANY creatures in a positive light on a regular basis. There are countless movies with rabid dogs and one of the most successful films this decade was 1. Pro Alien and 2. a slap in the face to our Government (aka Humans) and that was E.T.

That movie portrays monsters as bumbling, piss-serving goofs.
