GAME (2009) (Sci-fi action film starring Gerard Butler)
"Set in a future-world where humans can control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments, a star player (Butler) from a game called "Slayers" looks to regain his independence while taking down the game's mastermind (Michael C. Hall).
This is being done by the guys who did both Crank films (and wrote the upcoming Jonah Hex).
I think it looks pretty cool. Hopefully the effects dont distract or hinder the story. I really dont want this to be something like Ultraviloet meets Death Race.
Rated R for frenetic sequences of strong brutal violence throughout, sexual content, nudity and language.

Trailer Addict's already taken it down, so I'm sure this will be next, but here it is while it lasts.
There's some cool mayhem in that trailer, and I like Neveldine/Taylor.

Camerawork looks a little shaky in some parts, but the film looks dark and the CGI effects look pretty clean ..and nice! Good stuff. Count me in ...

I don't know if I'll be able to buy into the premise. Looks like something ... for video game junkies to enjoy. But I'll wait and see.
I didn't check to see it's connection(s) to Crank - but I would say that this is an improvement for the associated parties involved. Crank was alright, but more promising than actually good. I can see another one or two films and their style will kind of come full circle in a really great movie (kind of in the sense of how Bay's "The Rock" worked).
