Fight Night Round 4

Fight Night Round 4

Release date appears to be in July. I have conflicting dates.

+All-new physics-based gameplay engine that recreates the full spectrum of true-to-life punch impacts, giving boxers a devastating arsenal of punches, blocks and ring movement

+Includes missed punches, glancing punches, knockout blows and for the first time ever, rough and tumble inside fighting

+Emulates the styles of history's greatest boxers like never before - pressure your opponent with the brawling inside style of young Mike Tyson or capitalize on Muhammad Ali's reach, hand speed and fleetness of foot

+The greatest of all time, fighting in their prime

With a boxer roster spanning both history and modern times, the matchup possibilities are endless

---

Mike Tyson is in this!

Anyone looking forward to picking this up? I'd post some videos but I don't have the capability at work.

Re: Fight Night Round 4

You couldn't come up with a worse roster...way too many "no brainer" omissions...

No Klitschkos? PBF? Haye? Calzaghe? Abraham? Dawson? P. Williams? Marquez? etc...

EA is a joke.

Re: Fight Night Round 4

I doubt the validity of that roster. I read that there will only be 3 weight classes in order to reduce confusion and I also thought Pavlik and Calzaghe had exclusive contracts with another company (can't remember the name of the boxing game that came out last year).

Plus, where's Mayweather??? or even lesser knowns like Mora?

Re: Fight Night Round 4

The latest trailer with the Hatton fight looks really cartoony. Everything looks soft. Smooth motion, but soft.

The general consensus so far is it is disappointing...

Curious to hear more thoughts.

Well, they don't let you play as Tyson or Ali in the demo so I would think it would be disappointing.

Re: Fight Night Round 4

The word (from more than one) is the TPC isn't "tight" enough (hooks instead of uppercuts, etc...) and the ring movement (feet) is like moving in mud. Many are saying it is just a toe to toe slugfest with upper torso movement.

I will wait til I play the demo to judge myself.

Regardless, I will buy it because of Lennox and Tyson. I will then decide between this and the already purchased UFC. I don't have room for two "fighting" games.

Re: Fight Night Round 4

Well, it sucks. The graphics and presentation are top notch, but that's where it ends. The game is VERY boring, neither one of us did remotely any damage through the first 2 rounds even though I annihilated his face numerous times. Then, in the 3rd, he comes out on god mode and knocks me down 2 times and game over. One of the knockdowns came when his gloves "pushed" my gloves and my health went from full to 0...that may have been a glitch (I hope). The UFC game was way better, and round 3 was also way better. The end.

Re: Fight Night Round 4

I loved Round 3 and was excitedly keeping up on Round 4 so this is disappointing news. Thankfully the disappointment is blunted by the fact i have played the UFC demo to absolute death and it has been incredible. It will most likely be my fighting game for a good while.

Re: Fight Night Round 4

Okay, I played through the demo at least 20-30 matches until I could actually KO Manny. The game doesn't feel as loose and fluid as the other games. And in the last game, it was pretty much 4 or 5 haymakers and the other guy drops. This game not so much. I was swinging for the fences on the majority of my punches and guy never went down. The game seems to focus too much on countering. Yeah, I get it, back away then hit 'em hard. I get it.

Also, playing a gazillion times you hear the announcers constantly saying the same thing over and over again. It never felt this way in UFC demo with just the 2 guys.

Okay game. I really cannot stand Manny, I guess making a demo with Tyson or Ali would be too much for them. I'll rent it. Certainly not rushing out to buy it.

So I'm safe to stick with my $20 copy of Round 3 and forget about Round 4 altogether?
