Good news!! There were some concerns whether the film would actually end up getting released on Blu-Ray or not. But according to the latest Diamond Previews (A Catalog for Comic Shops), the movie is scheduled for release on 6/23/09. No specs or further information so far, but it will be available in 1-Disc DVD, 2-Disc SE DVD, and Blu-Ray. So it sounds like hopefully we'll get some decent extras. The suggested SRP from Diamond is $39.99, but expect it much chaper in stores, since they service Comic Shops. Can't wait!!

As do I....maybe it will be like the Criterion release of Brazil, where you are really able to see how a studio can meddle with a film through editing....

Definitely getting this. Glad there is a release date for the film now.

It was showing in my County for maybe 3 weeks and I missed the showings. Wonder if George Lucas checked out any of them (he lives in the area)?

The cancer subplot is the original cut. The alternate cut didn't test well with audiences. Still, a lot of was trimmed for the mini-theatrical release.

I thought this movie was hilarious. Day one purchase.

I saw this durring its limited run, and this movie was like a bad fanfilm(except with S.A.G. Actors) only part i enjoyed was the scene with shatner other wise it was complete garbage. a big let down, those who enjoy the movie thats great news you will be getting to own it on Blu since there had been some doubt as to a blu release.

It was a decent film, but I would definitely rent before I would buy it... Just not sure its worth purchasing or not.

I saw it at SDCC last year, and loved it! But I also happen to be a Star Wars loving fanboy. So I can see why it isn't for everyone...

I like Star Wars, used to like Star Trek, but really loved this movie.

I think the only prerequisite for being able to like this movie is to merely understand the culture, not live in it.

True. But I don't have over 1,000 comments. I not 100% sure I want a name change, but having 2 Blu Mans is a solid reason to have it changed. Don't want to confuss people to much.

Well, how many members are on this site? I know it say's like 75,000 at the bottom of the forum homepage but doesn't that include guests? Anyway, in a site this large, there's bound to be a some similar names and in my case even a repeat. No big deal. If I can't get my name changed it won't really bother me.
