Yes, the VHS from Republic is the complete uncut R-rated version originally shown on Showtime.
The Artisan DVD seems to have accidentally used a syndication-broadcast print missing most of the gore. All the linking segments with host Carpenter in the morgue dissecting the gruesome corpses are practically cut to nothing on the DVD.

My Carpenter collection needs this title badly. Regardless of the quality of the film itself I wish someone would finally give it a proper release.
