Finally, A Marmaduke feature

Fox Developing A "Marmaduke" Feature

Tom Dey is set to direct a big screen adaptation of classic comic strip "Marmaduke" for 20th Century Fox says The Hollywood Reporter.

The stories about a mischievous Great Dane who lives with the Winslow family began in 1954 and appeared in several animated episodes of "Heathcliff" and "Garfield and Friends."

As the project is in the early stages of development, there's no word as to whether the titular mutt will be live-action or animated.

Awesome. I like when Marmaduke does something that's funny because he's a big dog.

I hate Marmaduke. Seriously, one of the unfunniest comics ever. It's a big fucking dog.

Isn't this just a mashup of Beethoven and Look Who's Talking Now? Oh, and that trailer features my single most hated trend in movies... CGI dancing animals.

I blame every fucking one of you who paid to see Alvin and the Chipmunks (1 or 2) for this movie.

I'd rather watch Cathy: The Movie.

Re: Finally, A Marmaduke feature

This is what happens when good shows get cancelled by stupid networks. Lee Pace has to settle for the role of Marmaduke's owner.

Re: Finally, A Marmaduke feature

The first 30 seconds of the trailer seems like something that'd be on Funny or Die. Just a nonstop parade of "MARMADUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"

And so sad seeing Lee Pace go from The Fall to this.

Wow, I'd never even heard of that movie. I just watched the trailer. Looks interesting. First thing I said to myself is that it must have been directed by teh same guy that did The Cell.

I'll have to check it out.

Re: Finally, A Marmaduke feature

This could have been mildly interesting if they went with the Comic Curmudgeon's theory of Marmaduke's owner being an escaped Hitler hiding out in the American suburbs.

That trailer may be the worst thing I have ever seen. I think I'm 50% less alive now.

Re: Finally, A Marmaduke feature

Horrible trailer. William H Macy must be getting divorced or something. This movie will do nothing but open up the doors for a Family Circus film.

I saw it written elsewhere that nothing can prepare you for the last 15 seconds of this trailer. They were right.

There was a time I kind of liked the Wilson brothers. But due to crap like this and Luke's stupid AT&T commercials, I am kind of hoping a tree falls on them in a forest and no one is around to hear it.

Re: Finally, A Marmaduke feature

We all complain that movies like this get made yet they rake in heap loads of cash.

It's a sorry commentary on our society that movies like Hachi are blockbuster successes over seas and they are delegated to straight to DVD bins here in America and crap like this is paraded down the red carpet to cinemas all across our bountiful land from sea to shining sea.
