Remake alert..."Re-Animator" in 3-D!!!
i saw this on G4's "Attack of the Show" and it actually said Brian Yuzna who produced the original was set to do this and "Bride of Re-Animator", but the article doesn't mention the sequel.
i really didn't dig them as i tried many times to, but thought others would love to tear into YAR.

Producers Developing Re-Animator Remake
Source:ShockTillYouDrop.com February 28, 2009
The good doctor Herbert West has defied death before and now he's looking to make a comeback. Not in a sequel, however, but in a remake. (C'mon, don't act surprised.)
ShockTillYouDrop.com has learned producer Ray Haboush is developing a remake of Stuart Gordon's Re-Animator. Haboush operates Automatic Media and is the owner of Halcyon International Pictures. He'll be shepherding the project with Brian Yuzna, producer of the original '85 and director of Bride of Re-Animator and Beyond Re-Animator.
There have been talks in the past of a House of Re-Animator and a television series. None of which have come to fruition.
Haboush and Yuzna are looking to do the remake in 3-D. And since it's so early in the game, there's no word as to whether Combs would return to reprise his role, or if they'll find someone new to slip into Herbert West's lab coat.

There's a scene in Death Becomes Her where Goldie Hawn has gained a billion pounds and ends up in an insane asylum because she's developed a near-homicidal obsession with Meryl Streep, who stole her fiance just to spite her, and every time she mentions her name in therapy, the other people in the group start screaming.
That's what this onslaught of remakes is causing me to do.

Re: Remake alert..."Re-Animator" in 3-D!!!
Why????
I guess Brian Yuzna is that desperate is why. I mean all the guy has done the last few years is make sub-par genre titles like Beneath Still Waters which I thought was his lame attempt at a take on Dagon. The only thing Yuzna has worked on lately that I've been remotely interested in was his WWII zombie film Worst Case Scenario that apparently he lost funding for. I even shelled out the $15 for the making of documentary that they were selling on the website to help get the funding to finish it and here we are like 4 years later with nothing.

Exactly. It's time for everyone to boycott the remakes I think.
I was hoping it was just a trend that would fade away, but it's getting worse and worse. Hell they even did a straight to dvd remake of Fright Night that's coming out in April.
Where's the Evil Clutch remake?????

How pathetic of Yuzna to consider this. I know the guy has been busy churning out Stuart Gordon-esque ripoffs in Spain for the last few years, but don't think going back to the well of green serum will extend your career. The results will be godawful, and he's gotta know it.
This all being said: No Combs=No Sale.

From Shocktillyoudrop:
Stuart Gordon on the Re-Animator Remake
Source:Ryan Rotten, Managing Editor March 6, 2009
Sifting through press notes often yields details on upcoming films. I read 'em. It's part of the job. And it was in the the notes for Rogue Pictures' upcoming The Last House on the Left where I discovered details on the potential Re-Animator remake we reported on last weekend.
The news came via a career bio on executive producer Ray Haboush. Most mini-bios for press notes need to be approved by the talent before they go to print; so keeping that in mind, we presumed the Re-Animator redo news was solid enough for an announcement. But it appears someone jumped the gun.
Last night, I caught up to original Re-Animator helmer Stuart Gordon who admitted to seeing the news break and being confused, especially after getting off the phone with producer Brian Yuzna. "I contacted Brian and he didn't know anything about it. I said, 'What's going with the remake?' And he asked, what remake?"
So, is a Re-Animator remake in 3-D wishful thinking on Haboush's part? A way to draw some attention? It generated from somewhere in his camp. We'll see what we can dig up. For now, rest easy. It doesn't look like this remake is going to happen any time soon.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad news, folks. It's still on. They've got a cast. UGH.
Even if Elisha Cuthbert DOES show her boobs, the movie will probably still be bad. I haven't even heard of the guy playing West. If they had to get someone, Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving would've been better.
Stop this. Please.

Meh..COuld be worse. Could've gotten Paris Hilton or someone. Cuthbert isnt too bad. She was OK in that "He was a quiet Man" movie....
Combs kinda owned that role though and is gonna be hard to top but what other young guy would work with the budget they prob. got (who would actually wanna do this)?
It's not like this is even has a great shot at getting a large theatrical release anyways....

Your telling me. She needs to stop making movies that have the word "Unrated" on the cover if she's going to refuse to show the goods.
