Slap Shot, Predator, Death at a Funeral, Oldboy, Nightmare on Elm Street, Hellraiser, The Birds, Logan's Run, The Warriors, Child's Play...what the hell, Hollywood, this has got to stop.

Off topic, but this is the first time I saw 'YART' (took me a second to figure out what it meant) and it makes an awesome word.

If TNS is better than it's 2 sequels that came out, sign me up.

Re: YART: Total Recall and The Neverending Story

I like both originals but think the source material is there to make 2 vastly different remakes. I'm down for both as long as they get some talent behind them (sounds like TNE will definitely get some good attention if Kennedy/Marshall gets the rights...)

Unlike Clue, I have no problem with this. There is plenty of room for a re-imagining of TNES. The original was great, but it's a world that has plenty of room for re-interpreting.

Re: YART: Total Recall and The Neverending Story

The Neverending Story can be updated. Kids today laugh at its "special" effects, as they're a clear halfway point between Harryhausen and what we have today. Not to say that they are right in doing so.

Plus, anything will be better than the sequel.

cant wait to see how terrible The NEver Ending Story remake will be. There is no way it'll be half as dark, scary and depressing as the original is.

Re: YART: Total Recall and The Neverending Story

Neverending Story III is one of the most surreal and insane films I've ever seen. It stars a pre-famous Jack Black as the leader of a gang of Moe-and-Larry misfits, gnomes that mail themselves around in a FedEx package, and a baby rock creature (the offspring of the one from the first film) that has a giant diaper and is hidden in a boy's bedroom.

But yeah, I'd hate for them to remake this. It's one of the last vestiges of my childhood that remains untouched.

I like how that article seems to suggest The Fugitive has no sequel. I actually liked the sequel, as far as Tommy Lee Jones' performance went. Sure, it's very much the same movie, but that includes Jones, who was equally good in both movies.

I've never fully seen The Fugitive though I did what I saw. I'd appreciate a Special Edition of it for sure.

The current DVD, with commentary and 2 documentaries (including a then-new interview with Ford) is considered a special edition.

Except if the remake of Total Recall is now an accurate adaptation of We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, it'll be 5 minutes long (if you stretch out all the scenes as much as possible).

Re: YART: Total Recall and The Neverending Story

They should just mash both remakes into one film:

Neverending Recall: The Total Story
Directed by Terry Gilliam

Can you imagine the mindfuck that would ensue?

Re: YART: Total Recall and The Neverending Story

Total Recall being remade? Come the fuck on.

Schwarzenegger's best non-James Cameron venture, and one of Verhoeven's best getting remade?

I hope this gets torn to shreds, you know like Johnnycab.
