would someone be so kind to help me understand my confusion? what are the differences between:
1) the 47 ronin (mizoguchi)
2) ichikawas 47 ronin (ichikawa)
3) chushingura
4) this new loyal 47 ronin (by ichikawa?)
?
ive have already seen #1 and #3 above, and understand there are big differences (though its been a while). i have not yet seen #2. tia

The Animeigo release is the 1958 version (dir. Kunio Watanabe). There is also a 1978 version (dir. Kinji Fukasaku) whose US DVD title is Swords of Vengeance.
