Just a trip-down-memory-lane question for y'all. What was your first tape/cd you remember getting that had the dreaded:
on the cover?
I believe mine was Suicidal Tendencies-"Lights,Camera,Revolution".

That had a Parental Advisory sticker on it? Hmm.
I think mine was the Rush Hour soundtrack in 1998. That was one of the first CDs I ever bought. A lot of my earlier rap cassettes didn't have the warning.

Can't be sure, but I think it had a different looking warning-logo than the one that's commonly used now.
I distinctly remember Digital Underground's "Sex Packets" also had a different sticker on it before the one we all know today became the norm.

I know Wikipedia obviously cannot be trusted 100% (unless you are Michael Scott), but according to the Parental Advisory article there, AFD was one of the first albums to receive the label, along with Soundgarden's "Louder Than Love" (another one I own, but I bought it after AFD), Danzing's self titled debut, and "As Nasty As They Wanna Be" by the 2 Live Crew.....

I think mine was Warrant - Cherry Pie. I know I had to have my mom buy it for me, who was standing right there so it seemed kind of pointless for them to refuse me. I think I was 15. Too bad I didn't realize how shitty it was and save my money.

The only thing with it is it has a "price check" sticker on it which leads me to believe it was a "budget" CD.

when i was in jr high my mom would only buy me the clean versions of gangsta rap. then i became friends with a kid whos mom who let him have the uncensored versions. a piece of tape later and i had the naughty version recorded over my clean one.

Fuck if I remember, since I was buying albums long before they even started using those stickers. By the time they did come around, for one, I was already old enough for it not to matter, and for two, I didn't care anyway.

I miss CD longboxes.
Wrathchild America - Climbin' the Walls
I opted to buy this myself and not put it on my Christmas list because of the Parental Advisory label (on the back). Anthrax's "Among the Living" and "State of Euphoria" as well as Metallica's "Garage Days Re-revised" did not have this so they went on the list.
